Awesome! my only issue with it is that the base of the tail isn't entirely connected to the tail bone of my players FG body. It's otherwise excellent and I hope this gets expanded upon. Thanks a ton!
I'd like to make an adjustment patch, but I don't think I'm using the right tools. I tried to make a slight adjustment to the width of the tail, and make it taper to a point and look more reptilian. I used Blender 2.93 with the Nifly plugin, and then rebuilt the controllers in nifskope, but the tail is invisible. All the block data looks identical, but it simply won't show. I'm either missing a setting/modifier, or Blender just can't properly export the skin of this model. Did you use 3DS Max?
Like the Mod. It is really cool! But, can you by chance make this craftable at the Chemistry (or Armorsmith) work Bench? Or at least make it an overlay? I was hoping to add this to NPC's actually. But I will definitely be saving this for the future.
+1 Would really like this to be craftable, and for NPCs! Have a Cat Woman outfit thing I've been working on, and this would be the purrfect finishing touch! Looked at source code, everything is hard-coded to player alias. A bit more tweaking than i am prepared to do. (My CK is extremely temperamental).
Otherwise, nice POC, plenty of room to expand on this, horse, squirrel, devil, bushy, etc... Could be fun! However you managed to achieve this it seems like a possible starting point for a potential whip type (spline -based) weapon as well. (Which there is a quiet demand for in this community).
As for reported lag, unpacking ba2 may help responsiveness, IDK.
Lovely work! Im just trying out the Shoulder Tentacles too and discovered they dont seem to work together (my game crashed when I tried). I would absolutely LOVE a mod that combines the Cat Tail with the Shoulder Tentacles all together!

I don't think I'd be against approving someone who asks to make adjustment patches (mastered to this, of course) and post them on Nexus.

*lurks in a corner, entirely wanting to make a squirrel sniper character...*
