As someone who's probably played more, do you think it's horribly unbalanced?
Fyrcynn wrote: I'm not saying it's unbalanced, just that making an NPC invulnerable is pretty much a cheat, so, category.

Dogmeat is supposed to be no ordinary dog, a wasteland veteran who helps others and who survives the Commonwealth's nasties with aplomb...
Erm, no. That illusion is shattered at the first occurrence of combat. Doggo does very little damage, his AI has him charging into a hail of bullets or the claws of a Deathclaw and he's usually down in seconds. In vanilla form he wouldn't last long in the wasteland at all, much less thrive in it to be the glossy coated healthy boy that he is.
Also and, the fact that the in game dog armour has no damage resistance at all is a double whammy, you can't even kit him out for play at higher levels unless you use dog armour mods. Are they considered a cheat too ?
Should this go in the cheat section ? NO. It should go in a 'Common Sense' section because to survive the wasteland at any time good old Dogmeat would need to be able to mop up damage like a sponge, give his balls a quick lick and carry on regardless.
Thanks for this Jakobc, it'll be a permanent addition to my load order

I wasn't going to.
stop commenting on my mod damn it I just wanted dogmeat to stop limping on the floor after every fight

It's still not enough! Now if you make some sort of big mecha robot for Dogmeat to pilot into combat, and he's completely 100% safe inside of it, now I might be able to bring myself to take him into combat.
One time I saw a raider kick Dogmeat. After I heard his pained yelp, all I could see was red. Once the red faded, the raider was a bloody dismembered pulp. It's a bit of a haze...
When they hurt Dogmeat, the most primitive anger takes control of me, I lose it completly, but thanks to your mod mate, I can put that anger at bay, I hope...
Like the description says, Dogmeat still takes 'damage' and whimpers, but you can use that to fuel your gamer rage instead of saying "sigh, here's another stimpak"

maybe a silent dogmeat mod would help
