This is a patch for the fantastic mod FACTOR - Modular Rifle You must have the main mod installed to use this. Get it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/32908

Because of the 7.62 barrel, this patch requires the Nuka World DLC.

NOTE: If upgrading from version 0.90 to any newer version, you will need to re-add the new barrels & magazines to any Factors that had them due to a form ID fix.

This is my first published patch, please keep the screaming and rotten vegetable throwing to a minimum.

This patch does the following:

Adds New Items:

  • 7.62 Barrel with 7.62 Standard and Extended magazines
  • .308 Barrel with .308 Standard and Extended magazines
  • .50 Cal Barrel with .50 Standard magazine (uses standard .50 Cal ammo, not the HE style Factor adds)

  • The 7.62 barrel has a slightly longer range than the Standard and does slightly more damage, but less than the .308.
  • The .308 barrel has a slightly longer range than the 7.62 and does slightly more damage, but still less than the .50 Cal.
  • The .50 barrel has slightly longer range than the 7.62 and does slightly more damage, but still less than the .50 cal HE.

The Range, Damage, etc is probably going to require some fine tuning yet.

Visuals and SFX:
The 7.62 and .308 barrels use the "Standard Barrel" imagery & SFX. The .50 Cal uses the Factor .50 Cal imagery and the Standard Barrel SFX. My modding skills don't extend to graphics & SFX yet. If someone wants a version that adds the new barrels that use the "Classic" barrel imagery, I can add them easily enough.

Misc:
  • All three new barrels can have a suppressor attached if you choose.

Naming:
  • The 7.62 barrel will cause the weapon to be named "- 7.62 Hole Puncher"
  • The .308 barrel will cause the weapon to be named "- .308 Sniper"
  • The .50 barrel will cause the weapon to be named "- .50 Sniper"
  • The existing .50 Cal barrels have been updated to add "HE" to them to distinguish them from the new one.

Ammo Capacity:
  • The new 7.62 and .308 magazines have slightly less capacity (28 and 50 respectively) to account for the larger cartridge size.
  • The new .50 Cal magazine has the same capacity (12) as the HE one to account for the massively larger cartridge size.

Fixed Functionality:

I believe I've found and fixed the reason that the Sniper Perk wasn't affecting the Factor (even when properly configured). The Sniper perk looks for the weapon you are using to have the Rifle flag (which the Standard, Heavy and my two new barrels already add) AND the HasScope flag. The default Factor Optical Sights were not adding the HasScope flag. I've added the flag where appropriate and, at least for me and judging by the knockdown evidence, it's working. *

Minor Fixes/Cosmetic Fixes:
  • I corrected a few items that had the word Factor in all caps. It was just a visual thing, but it bugged me.

Personal Preferences Tweaks:
  • Modified the existing .50 cal barrels (HE) to allow a suppressor.
  • Modified all three extended mags (Standard, 7.62 & .308) to remove the detrimental aiming effects. Hooray for realism and all, but no other larger mag in the game (that I can find) has these disads.

* For the technically minded - There's a HasScope Keyword needed on the Optical Sight and then a HasScope Boolean on the zoom level slot. The
"Original" labeled versions of the zoom levels had the boolean, but not the new style ones and the Optical Sight did not have the main HasScope Keyword.
