This is a great mod. Is there any chance we could make all colors of the bag make a zipper sound when accessing items? like this mod does to the vanilla one? Duffle Bag Sound Fix at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) Now it plays the zip sound only when you put down and pick up the bag, seems a little unrealistic, it should be the sound of picking up and falling on the ground I think, and access to items is no sound at all.
Mod working for the most part, had issues -ctd when trying to pick up, I reinstalled and it worked but where the old one was (that caused the crashes) disappeared, then came back later with all the stuff in it plus every time i reloaded that interior it would respawn full of the same stuff -new install new game, working fine but doesnt display on my character until I take it off and put it on, so far every time I load it's invisible
Please make a mod with a bunch of bags, or make a patch for bag mods, that gives them a separate container inventory almost exactly like this. It would be more realistic to carry several containers with all your stuff in them (a med kit, a caps box, an ammo pouch) than to shove everything up our ass and call it STRENGTH Each container would need to have a weight limit that it can contain, and it would have its own weight plus the weight of what's inside it, so it becomes about having space to hold your stuff first, then you have to worry about the weight implications Then we add quick access to these containers, and the player itself has 0 inventory except for what's in their hands (no more asshole storage)
This would be hardcore and not very easy but way more realistic, this is how MilSims handle it and your mod is the closest thing to it for this game
I just use the CC backpacks and the overhaul mod, with the non-wearable version of this, this adds the function I need. I can imagine as if I'm using the backpack. I got power armor backpacks too so it makes sense to me that I can just leave it on the frame with this mod. also I just impose whatever the limit is on myself, that way I can just go over that limit if I really can't be bothered. probably a better solution for you.
This mod is exactly perfect for me anyway, thank you 7StarC. My only complaint is how long it took me to discover it's existence.
VERY VERY cool mod. Definitely fixes problems I've had with fallouts inventory management. 2 things I would love to see :
Weight limit. I see your point when you say why cheat at all BUT I play survival-lite and I still think the idea is realistic given that you can strap bags to robots why cant we strap bags to our power armor? so a couple different options for folks like 100, 300 or like 500 weight would be appreciated. I'll just have to stop myself from loading up too much, so really not a big deal but would still be good optional file people would want to use
Show the bags strapped on the power armor when its on the frame - would look so good!!
Also i seem to have an issue(probably mod incompatibility is my guess) where equipping the duffle on power armor causes it to disappear and be un-openable from the armor, losing all stored items in the bag
also, while the mod worked mostly fine in diamond city, trying to drop the bags elsewhere would lead to the a soft crash, the screen blacks out and the only control that worked was the pause menu. shame, since this mod concept is really cool
Will this duffle bag despawn after a certain amount of time if I set it down in the world outside of a settlement? I want to use it alongside the Campsite mod as a part of temporary base.
I love this mod but is there a chance the bags can have a limit on the amount of stuff I put in there or is that basically impossible because it's like a normal container?
No, that is not impossible, but not the intention of this mod. Why would you have a limit? You feel like cheating without?
I don't, cause the bag doesn't increase my carry weight and I cannot access the bag from my inventory. If I would drop the bag in combat, I'll likely be dead before I can get stuff out of the bag.
Basically, the mod just saves me to travel (or fasttravel) to the nearest settlement to unload my stuff or re-equip myself. And I think that's super helpful for the gameplay.
It's personal preference but I guess when I'm carrying hundreds of junk items, a minigun, a missile launcher, a fat man, and a bunch of missiles and mini nukes, it does feel a little cheaty. It's easy to drop the bag just before you engage in combat and get what you need.
But it's your mod and you should make it the way you want. Like I said, I love the mod. But if it's easy to explain how to put in a limit, it'd be great to know how, so I can do it myself. I've got the CK and FO4Edit but I'm still pretty new to modding. Don't worry if it's really complicated to explain though. Either way, thanks for the mod!
Honestly, if you are completely against the idea I'm okay with that. But I personally like the idea of the mod but not with it having an unlimited weight. I see your point, but I also agree that there should be a weight limit. If possible I would honestly love for you to make versions like some other mods where they have variety of file versions (Ex: 100lb, 300lb, and then the unlimited version).
Of course it's up to you. But I would greatly love that! Thanks for taking the time to read this!
Just wanted to chime in and say i would love an adjustable weight limit.
This bag for me acts as a "scrap bag", all the bottles and crap i find laying around.
I totally get why you made the mod, makes complete sense. What you have unintentionally made is a very immersive carriable container.
The need to return to base to empty this bag of scrap would just add a really nice extra level to it. I understand this is "cheating" regardless, but the idea that my guy has to drop a bag, load it up, and then carry it makes it one of the most realistic backpack mods out there, especially for those of us that just dont like the look of a backpack.
Best backpack mod out there, this is exactly what i needed.
A weight cap on the contents of the bag would be cool, but i just love that i need to remove it to fill it and then pick it up again. I know little about modding, but something that would slow the characters movement based on the contents of the bag would be awesome.
Leaving it behind somewhere has contributed to some awesome little immersive journeys, sometimes on very little ammunition (that had been left in the bag!).
How do you wear them like in the screenshot? everytime I do it keeps saying you need a power armor to wear this!! I wanna wear it without power armor please.
I got everything from this page, activated... I have the portable duffle bag in my inventory (And the note too) , I put two guns in it and pick it up. still doesn't show on my character! What gives? Edit: after a re-install, it works! thanks for this great mod.

whenever I zoom in with a weapon, the duffle bag will obstruct my view
By the way thanks for an awesome mod

Just put something into the Duffle Bag and pick it up. Makes no sense to wear it on back if it is empty.
still doesn't show on my character!
What gives?
