I just downloaded the Ak5C yesterday so seeing this pop up was a godsend! However, after installing this I believe there is something wrong with the audio you added - or some conflict of mine. When I fire my rifle with this mod activated I just get a really loud, endless loop of the firing sound in the background. Reloading removes it but that's not really a solution in itself. I'll see if I can find a conflict or something somewhere but maybe you have an idea what could be wrong?
Hmm... the endless firing loop bug is a vanilla issue (I used to see it with NPC's using automatic pipe weapons all the time), however the fix I applied was supposed to have corrected that. In technical terms, the B.A.W.S. fix alters the Sound Keyword Mapping. It takes the Primary and VATS descriptor from the single-fire entries and places them in the auto entries. Since you're getting sound looping WITH this fix, it makes it a real head-scratcher for me.
Thanks, I'll check it out! My mod list is starting to get quite long so it wouldn't surprise me if there is a conflict on my end. I'll report back in a bit.
EDIT: Both 1.0 and 1.1 consistently give me the sound loop. The version without BAWS does *not* cause it.
Interesting! This is the first weapon patch I've made that BAWS hasn't worked on. I wonder what makes it unique... Thanks for letting me know! I'll leave the non-BAWS version up in case anyone else runs into the same issue.
Found the issue and posted version 1.2. I replicated your problem and discovered that the repeating sound wasn't the firing sound (the vanilla bug) but the reverb. Turns out I had to do this same fix when I added BAWS to the RU556, so it was easy to copy.
Thank you so much for this, all the extra fixes and updates are really awesome, nevermind the actual VIS-G implementation which also rocks, so thank you for taking the time and effort to not only make this but to share it with us that don't have the time/skill to do the same \m/
