I thought the portable version of the kit was broken...It's not. I just wasnt "activating" it, when it was in my inventory..Maybe add more detailed instructions on how to use it for dummies like me..
hm.. can i ask a question..? is there a way to simply call a 'robot workbench building menu' on any robot, without using a robot workbench or even being in a settlement. to just select and edit.. I'm kinda asking because i wanted to mod drinking buddy, but i sent him to the hotel

Well, you need to spawn at least a robot workbench but don't have to be in a settlement to work on a robot. But I doubt that you can call the drinking buddy to a robot workbench. I guess it is more easy to mod a copy of the drinking buddy. Isn't there a way to get him back?
Hm.. would dropping a 'robot building kit' of some sort do the same thing as robot workbench, with the 'moddable drinking buddy' mod? i dunno how the robot workbench does that list of which robot to mod, do they have to be in the same cell?
as for the copy, yes, the mod does have that torso enabled for other robots, but i did mean to mod the original first xP
