If there's an issue with the Mod Manager, just do the manual install. I'm pretty sure I structured the file correctly, but sometimes things can get... interesting with how Beth likes to deal with loose files.
Best way to do it is to just drag and drop the "Data" folder contained within directly into your Fallout 4 game directory. That SHOULD put everything in the right place.
i agree whole heartedly, those things were so freaking scary, i don't know how it would work in this game though, like i'm thinking they wouldn't at all look like the tripods but they could look like an existing creature in this game and become enlarged, perhaps slow them down a bit and add significant weight to their steps that cause tremors depending on how close they are, but other issues could happen, as you can walk through any dead body, so they would have to have collision on them so if they fall on top of you they could kill you instead of going right through you, but that could get in the way of some quests, perhaps it would have a clean up dead body after some time passes.
I wouldn't mind having none of them to be an in-game creature. I just want to scavenge the wasteland and then occasionally hearing those ominous sirens far off in the distant horizons.
I love falling upon such a great idea of a mod, as that noise is so damn awesome and intimidating, fits well as your leveling up since the battle will become much harder.
thanks for the mod. i think sfx mods are underestimated. i do wonder though how it is that there still isnt a tripod mod seeing how sweet it would be, and could make sense lore wise. at least two other games have a tripod mod, and there's a fan-made game being made to reproduce the complete 2005 experience.
Glad you enjoy it. Unfortunately, I don't have the required skillset to make a tripod mod. And I agree, it actually would still be somewhat lore friendly to have some of those... "visit" us in the commonwealth. I mean after all, the Zetans were running around the Mojave, why not have Martians in Massachusetts?
Yes definitely, it would certainly fit the atmosphere of fallout, heck even having blood red vines as textures/foliage would be cool. Sorry if it seemed like i was complaining lol, I don't have that particular skill set yet either. I've thought about turning the 3d asset of a matrix hovercraft released this year into a vertibird replacement mod, but that's probably rather advanced for me right now.
I have however clipped the tripod weapon sfx from a trailer of war of the worlds, and put it through audio program to replace the gauss rifle charge and fire sound. Actually turned out pretty good. Still havent finished the silent file, but ive debated in my head about posting it here. Since you have experience with this, do you think they would take it down for copyright or is it usually fair use for samples and sound bites and tweaked files? Appreciate your advice.
Oh. Well after some checking, I found out unfortunately that one isn't an open source file, so I technically can't use it without some MAJOR copyright violations.

This is pretty cool regardless.
