i don't have any issues with the gun except the low level damage of the gun with any dart mod. I would love a mod with all of the metro franchise weapons
Quick question before I use this mod, does it make the syringe ammo shoot as hitscans rather than projectiles? The reason why I'm asking is because I hate it when I shoot my target (with some distance) with multiple syringes and then they start moving and I end up missing like half of my precious ammo on just a single target. If your mod doesn't do that, can you add it as like an optional file? I think it would be really convenient and I'm sure other players would agree if they like to use the syringer a lot like me...
Never mind, I just found out that this mod is not actually an addon to the syringer, it's literally like a whole different gun... oh well... just ignore everything I said previously...
All the modern weapons are great and everything but this is really my sort of thing, love the improvised weapons from Metro and obviously this also fits the world of Fallout perfectly. Lack of a reload animation is fine as I bet it would be a bit of a nightmare to do.
If you are interested, I would like to make you one or two unique textures that match the Metro version. Please let me know if this is something you would like and if you intend changing meshes at all.
Nightmare? Not at all. Syringer already has its own fully working reload animation of sliding a syringe inside the barrel after each shot. Its the same exact model regardless what syringes you are using so it works even if syringer is modified to use custom ammo other than the scripted syringes.
You can even replace that dart model in syringer.nif with for example a scaled down steel ball and put it in exact same place as the dart model is , remove the dart afterwards save the model and violla your character now puts a steel ball inside syringer upon every reload. If placed in right position it doesn't look off at all.
I know i tried out of curiosity when i was poking around game meshes thats pretty much 5 minutes work in nifskope.
Actually the interesting thing about the Syringer's reload animation is that the animation of you lifting the gun slightly IS the reload animation. The animation of you opening the gun and loading another syringe in is actually tied to it as a Bolt Action animation between shots. This has actually been a real pain to work around in FO4Edit, which is all I use to make these mods. As for the meshes I'd love to see it look more like the actual Tikhar, but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to meshes.
Oh right my bad. Well as for the workaround it should be easy to make your custom Syringer have a botomless clip by default like the "Never ending" legendaries.
I mean it would use the "syringe sliding in" bolt action animation anyways. So what's the worse that could happen?
That's what I did for the Air Rifle version of the gun, unless I messed it up before uploading it. The Tikhar version is fully automatic though, so all i really have is the default reload animation.
Yeah was just about to say this is automatic fire so reload animation would look wrong, I also am fairly clueless with weapon meshes but the model seems close so I was thinking change textures to cleanish steel, wood and blue tape, it uses scopes and stocks from pipe weapons though so I may change that to get it looking right.
Just been testing the vanilla syringer Lythael, never used it before, it has reload animation like you said but also has an inventory menu that pops up sometimes. Very odd.
the syringer when no ammo when you reload it the inventory popups for the syringe ammo to pick....then usual reload animation until it runs out then inventory pop ups again

What's sad there is a actual Syringer magazine model in the game files.
So Syringer was originally planned to have actual reloading animation but Bethesda went with the scripted botomless clip instead.
