    No need for mods like these. Just open the fallout4prefs.ini and look for bDoDepthOfField=1 then change it to bDoDepthOfField=0

    Great job with this mate. The new color of the water looks far better than the base game, and it does become easier to see underwater. I just wish it was possible to disable that really noticeable blur as well. Thanks for making this!

    What is this Dark abyss people are talking about?

    Why has no one posted a picture?

      Basically this Dark Abyss people are talking about is when using this type of mod, it ends up turning the water black. It does what it intended to do, make the water more clearer than the cloudy vanilla water. But the side of effect of it is it messes up at a certain distance where everything is black. This has come from my experience from using the mod. Its not too bad, I can deal with it, but I'm certainly not going to edit my .ini files just to get it to look like it does in the screenshots. I'll wait till someone makes a fix for that.

      Is that all? I just thought that was a lighting issue.

      MajinnFranky,

      I know this is replying to a TWO YEAR OLD POST and am probably never getting replied -BUT- I can't resist asking: Why not?

      I took one of those computer courses where they showed how to copy and paste files for something they called "backup purposes", for example.

      Sorry for that but I'm slightly drunk and kind of bored.

      Actually a quick intoxicated glance at some of the first settings in the mentioned .ini tweaks seem to just dial down graphics settings and whatever else. Nah, I'm not going to do that either. Really like the mod though. That dark abyss looks like 'nothing' (pun intended) compared to the one I'm in so it doesn't bother me that much.

    Hey guys,

    Sorry for the delay been pulled away on some other projects,

    Thanks to all who came up with the ini tweak to help fix the dark abyss issue. I have wanted to fix this but really wanted to wait for the Geck to make a more difinitive version

    Hey Moo, I got a question for you. After installing (It's last in my load order, with no other texture mods or changes) I get PITCH BLACK underwater. Once underwater, if I look up, I can see the sky relatively clearly, which gets darker as I go deeper, but everywhere else is 100% blackness.

    Any idea how to fix?

    Edit: I know others are saying the same things, but this is a bit tricky, as I have NO OTHER TEXTURE MODS installed. Just wanted to point that out. My load order is as follows, for reference:

    1. Fallout4.esm
    2. 25% Fusion Core Drain.esp
    3. Faster Terminal Displays (20x).esp
    4. PowerFrame_Small.esp (Adds the other powerarmor frame)
    5. ClearWater.esp

      i dont remember the exact fix butit has to do with your fallout ini
      i had this and fixed it by turning my ini one of the settings from water needed to be off
      i found the answer on a diff page on google search
      i fixed this months ago so sorry i dont remember the exact fix

      make sure your ini has these settings and let me know if that fixes it:
      FALLOUT4PREFS.ini (my documents)

      [Water]
      bUseWaterDisplacements=1
      bUseWaterRefractions=1
      bUseWaterReflections=1
      bUseWaterDepth=1

      [LightingShader]
      bScreenSpaceSubsurfaceScattering=0
      bScreenSpaceReflections=1

      [Imagespace]
      bDoDepthOfField=0
      bScreenSpaceBokeh=0
      bMBEnable=0
      bLensFlare=1

      [Display]
      bPrecipitationOcclusion=0
      bEnableRainOcclusion=0* im pretty sure this was what was causing the issue/but dont remember
      bEnableWetnessMaterials=0* wetness is bugged, google benablewetnessmaterials bug and you can see if you dont believe me, lots of weird issues with it on, just keep it off its not worth the 'bubbles' on your screen and 'shiny wet' on materials, even though that DOES look good, we need a better future fix; for now 0 = playable

      iVolumetricLightingQuality=0
      bVolumetricLightingEnable=1
      bSAOEnable=0
      -----------------------------------------

      FALLOUT.ini (My Documents)

      [Water]
      bReflectLODObjects=0
      bReflectLODLand=0
      bReflectSky=0
      bReflectLODTrees=0

      [Weather]
      bPrecipitation=1

      [ImageSpace]
      bDoRadialBlur=0

      [Display]
      iPresentInterval=0
      bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1
      bNvGodraysEnable=0 (if you use an enb, the enb/reshade has its own godrays; try it, godrays STILL work and NO fps drop minus the 0,1,2,3,4-5 drop from the enb depending on which enb you are using)
      bVolumetricLightingEnable=1

      [General]
      sStartingConsoleCommand=cl off;setfog 1 0
      bUseThreadedBlood=1
      bUseThreadedMorpher=1
      bUseThreadedTempEffects=1
      bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1
      bUseThreadedAI=1
      bUseMultiThreadedFaceGen=1
      bUseMultiThreadedTrees=1
      bForceFullLOD=1
      bSelectivePurgeUnusedOnFastTravel=1
      uStaticNeverFade=1
      iPostProcessMillisecondsLoadingQueuedPriority=5
      bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=0
      iPreloadSizeLimit=8388608000 (do YOUR amount of RAM/2, i have 16gb ram so i use 8, this is because in game its not actually this number it gets changed with bits usage to be higher)
      bUseHardDriveCache=1 (ONLY if you have SSD, if not make this 0; this will help with stuttering)

      more of my settings:
      [General]
      uGridsToLoad=5
      uExterior Cell Buffer=36
      uInterior Cell Buffer=144
      bDisableAllGore=0
      bForceUpdateDiffuseOnly=0
      bBorderRegionsEnabled=0
      bUseCombinedObjects=0

      This is also how to get 40+ FPS on mid-old laptops! higher /diff tweaks not all included bc i wanted to answer the clear water bug
      pretty sure its due to the Falloutprefs.ini changes under [Display] - if you dont want to make all the changes just try those and see if it works. Let me know! Hope this helps you. Also dont forget to make both files 'read only' afterwards. I recommend skipping the default launcher (Steam) which when opened changes your ini tweaks if NOT read only and can change your plugins (active/inactive).txt - just use F4SE which is cleaner and safer for keeping your plugins/mods working.

      It worked perfectly. Just that one that you said was probably it worked fine. Thanks a million! This needs to be put in the mod description, tbqh.

      So... The part about :
      >pretty sure its due to the Falloutprefs.ini changes under [Display] - if you dont want to make all the changes just try those and see if it works.

      It's enough to ''solve'' the darkness issue ?

    Unistalling mod, but tracking it till you can get it to do what you say it does without having to make ppl edit 50 + lines in their prefs and ini files.

      This mod is a tad bit to clear but at least it isnt a black abyss and doesnt look like your flying thru air. Maybe you could communicate with this mod maker and see what he did and just make it a little murkier.

    To get completely clear water

    1) go to fallout4pref
    2) Search for bDoDepthOfField and change it to 0 (should be in [ImageSpace]
    3) Save and exit

    HOWEVER this make the water COMPLETELY clear. So much it can ruin immersion for most. Its like being on land. Just flying.

    Second best thing till the dark abyss thing gets resolved
