Awesome job, installed the clean version & it looks fantastic. It always bothered me that the institute allowed their ultimate killers walk around with worn & dirty uniforms.
Now i hope to make one of the dirty & weathered versions a replacer for Chase's uniform!
Hmm.. ya know, the texture itself feels groovy, except that it also feels like some roughly sculpted piece. its kinda because its lacking all the details, lines and whatever else that made a definition between the belt, shoulders and so on, that the original texture had. do you think it would be possible to merge those same details on the (I assume) diffuse texture, like the original texture had, but without the awful color? maybe a greyscale layer on 'multiply'? so it has no color influence..
I think what they mean is that there is no Ambient Occlusion and no detailed specular. Yes the details are all there, and nicely textured, but it still looks "flat" and lifeless without the AO and Spec. Admittedly Nifskope isn't the best way to show those, as it's renderer isn't really all that good.
oh true i could get some ingame screens. i know for a fact that i rendered AO and the spec could be better. i plan to make a dirtier worn version. so expect to see that in another release
By coincidence for the first time, I'm recruit X6-88, then immediately i track your file the same day !! for "original texture looked like plastic vomit, and not actual leather" yes show us screen exterior interior IG, I do not see the utility of 4k for diffuse ? for the moment it looks too new and waxed , and not too much worn matte leather black. encouraging you , it's just review. I am not expert in textures, I think that the bgsm will reduce the brilliance, I also think that a level of black gray would suffice for the diffuse by keeping details with specular and normal map.
well. the "bgsm" won't make a difference tbh. Also, details are baked into the normal map not the specular. the specular can but used for things like wearing etc. i prefer a clean appearance. but eventually, i plan on a worn variant. greyscale maps are for color variants.
