    i have a "Unhandled Exception" Error. is there a fix?

    Thank you for developing this tool!!! The support for LooksMenu Preset and LooksMenu extensions like KSHairdos and Customization Compendium are really far out.

    Hi there man, love the Mod! It's been super useful for recreating or making Companions look like Celebrities.
    But I was wondering;

    Is Preston not able to be edited with this? Or do I need to manually find what his code is?

    I have Piper, Curie, Cait, Danse, MacCready and X6-88 showing up as labeled in the code list, but can't seem to find Preston for whatever reason.
    Same question in regards to Father too.

    I'm sorry if this has been asked before and if it's a stupid question but if I were to rip the appearance of a modded character to a fresh install would I need the same mods?

      Yes. Without the same mod, the transfer might leave a hole where the eyes or hair should be or possibly just use vanilla sources. For example, if I were to Face Rip my character without the mod The Eyes of Beauty, the eyes will be gone without that mod enabled. But if the eyes were changed to a vanilla eye setting or setting for a different, available mod, the transfer will work. That is why I created a vanilla asset version of my main character's face so that it easily transfers without mods.

      It is true, I realized when transferring several faces, using a face as a base, of my man preset for my protagonist, I made several faces that I kept in presets, then those presets were transferred to different NPCs, when I wanted to realize, all those NPCs had the same body as my preset protagonist xD

      For me this is a mistake, I just want to transfer faces, not bodies, now I have many NPCs that are big and muscular like my protagonist xD

      There is another way to simply transfer the faces from save to save.

      Download a mod called Start me up, since it can help speeding things up. But basically you just need to uninstall the face mod you don't want anymore, start a new game with the new face mod, open LooksMenu and save that face as a preset. The preset can be used for the other saves.

      I did it with Piper and that's where the Start me Up mod comes into play. I started a new game using it and loaded immediately near Diamond City. After getting into a random building and exiting it, the game triggers Piper's scene at the Diamond City's gate and she had the new face I installed.

      I opened the console, typed ""showlooksmenu 00002f1f" (Piper's id) and saved that face as a preset. Then loaded my previous save and loaded the new preset I created. Works for the MC as well.

    OMG! Yet another mod that doesn't work?! WTF? XD

    And, of course, the mod maker is long gone and no longer supports their mod.

    Supposedly, the Face Ripper interface is pretty easy to use...Just click on the browse button and select the save that has the face you want to transfer. Then click the second browse button and select the save that has the character you want to give the new face to. Click the Transfer face button and acknowledge that the transfer is done. Then log into the save that has the new face and...WHAT?! It's not there!! Why is it not there?

      I agree, all I get is that the throat looks like it has been RIPED out and no face transfer. this mod should be updated or removed.No endorsement from me

      It's hilarious how some people here can't or don't seem to understand the whole picture of modding. It isn't here to care for your wishes it's here because people made it possible to have some modification in your game, if someone left their work it's probably due because it's stable or the person isn't interested in the game anymore. You can have two options from here you either work on your own mod or you figure out how to find a mod that can do the same. Looksmenu has been out for a while now and does exactly the same with presets.

      Worked perfectly for me.
      Created save.
      Went to fo4edit and copied npc as override into selecting esp.
      Loaded face ripper selected save with player character that has face I wanted to use then selected plugin with the npc under drop down.
      Clicked transfer and it worked.

      Not sure what you're doing wrong. If you don't get DONE after transfer (right after) and instead get a couple messages about other esp, you need to go into fo4edit and make those esps masters.
      For example if using ks hairdo hair on your player character esp needs to have ks hairdo esp as master to transfer hair.
      Nothing else to it other than that...
      Edit: Oh yeah one more thing, if transferring from save to esp make note that a new esp is made possibly to keep from the old one getting deleted so you have to enable the new esp.

    how do i read esp and write to json?

    nvm figured out
    need to create an empty json file first then export the face data with faceripper to the empty file
