This sticky is an open forum for anybody to discuss and share tips for troubleshooting any problems with naked BoS NPC's. Feel free to post what works for you which may help other users experiencing the same issue.
- Place Nexus_PMC.esp lower in your load order
- Load a save before meeting the Brotherhood of Steel for the first time, preferably before you meet Paladin Danse, Scribe Haylen, and Knight Rhys at the Cambridge Police Station.
- You can use the "resurrect" console command to force an NPC to update. If the NPC still isn't using the replaced armor after the resurrect command, select the NPC in the console and use the "openactorinventory 1" console command to view their inventory and force them to equip the replaced armor
- If you're using Armorsmith Extended, place the Armorsmith Extended ESP plugin before/above Nexus_PMC.esp in your load order.
- If you still encounter problems after loading a previous save, try starting a new game
I found and fixed the issue causing this problem. On my end, it was the Vault Booty mod that is fairly popular here on Nexus causing file conflicts that vortex wasn't picking up on. Disabled that mod now all BoS soldiers have PMC outfit and not nakey.
Finally figured out why my BoS soldiers are spawning naked!
I tried a new game, and coc'ed directly to cambridge police station (coc cambridgepdext). Unfortunately, the BoS soldiers were still naked. Then I tried uninstalling "Custom Combat Armor" mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4865/ Tried the same thing, new game and coc to cambridge PD. BoS soldiers were wearing the PMC armor! So in my case, it was a mod conflict with "Custom Combat Armor". I think it's safe to say any mod that modifies BoS loadout will conflict with this mod.
To the mod author, it'll probably help to add a note that this mod conflicts with Custom Combat Armor, which is a pretty popular mod. Due to the popularity of that mod, I'm sure there are many others who are seeing the naked issue because of the same reason.
I had the naked BoS issue when I first came to the Camebridge police station. Manually adding the ESP option of your choice from this replacer mod, then using the "resurrect" console command on the naked AI (in this case Rhys and Halen), and then the "resetai" mod helped.
This was before the BoS showed up in the Commonwealth however so I have no idea what the folks on the Prydwen will look like. Will update when im there.
EDIT: I teleported to the prydwen with Halen and Rhys still being naked and everyone is kitted out in PMC gear. Looks like the issue is with Halen and Rhys. My suggestion to any folks is to manually install the PMC mod->the PMC hotfix->this mod's esp of your choice and textures of yourt choice.
Perhaps the issue is Armorsmith Extended? Anything that messes with the BoS may have an effect on this mod
Had this when I arrived at Cambridge PD 5 hours into a new game. This was with the install via Vortex set to all BoS with undersuit. came out of game and reinstalled all mods set to soldier only. This time reese and haylen were still naked but the dead guy was wearing the pmc gear. I tried the resurrect cmd on haylen and reese and they just put on the vanilla uniforms. Next I reinstalled once more inc the original hotfix (which vortex says is now redundant) set to all with undersuit. Loaded the only save i had before cambridge (losing the five hours of progression), used the coc to cambridge, and now they are all in vanilla uniforms. Now going to try a manual install.
EDIT: Manual install worked. It might be an idea to get rid of the vortex buttons on this mod page or at the top of the description page "MANUAL INSTALL ONLY". Now to get those 5 hours back.
so it appears that when using openactorcontainer on the naked BoS NPC they have the PMC gloves in their invetory, but no actual PMC outfit. could this be a pathing bug?
I don't know why but it seemed that FallUI - Item Sorter Mod was the culprit for me, if I load the replacer mod after FallUI Sorter the mod works fine. Which is weird because I had the replacer loaded before FallUI Sorter at one point and it worked fine, but I must've screwed something with my load order which is probably to blame.
EDIT, I was tinkering with AWKCR and Armorsmith alternatives and forgot to reinstall the FallUI - Item Sorter AWKCR patch which allows me to load the Sorter and the end of my load order and allows the replacer to work as well as fixing numerous other issues.
In my case it appears that my merged patch was the culprit along with the ESP being too high in the load order. The merged patch changed where the armors got their .nif files back to the vanilla addresses, no idea why that made them naked though. Deleted the armor entries in the merged patch in xEdit, used the "resurrect" command on Haylen and Rhys and they got their BOS PMC armor back.
EDIT: Well, 12 hours into a save and I found a naked legendary BoS Aspirant on patrol (only gloves in their inventory), so issue persist. Every other BoS I've encountered were all using the proper armor though.
Installed mid game, didn't work, created a new game, still didn't work. Got it working after 2 hrs of tinkering. Gonna cut short and explain how to install via vortex.
1) Install original PMC via vortex. Install glowmaps if you want. 1a) Install pmc_extended (i had it, so dunno if it's required or not)
2) Install this mod via vortex.
3) On vortex, select "mods" menu on the left. 3a) Right click to this mod, select "open in file manager" 3b) Change the file name (Nexus_PMC) to something else. (I changed it to "Nexus_PMC_BoS", name doesn't really matter, just for convenience.) 3c) Right-click to this mod and re-install.
4) On mods menu, right-click on the original PMC mod and re-install.
5) On vortex click on plugins on the left, then use the search function on top of the menu for "Private Military Company". Now there should be 3 PMC mods; the original PMC mod, (optional) glow map, (optional) pmc extended and the new mod you renamed (in my case, Nexus_PMC_BoS). If it's 3 (or more if you use other pmc stuff), then you did things correctly.
6) On vortex, create a new rule so your newly named mod loads after the original PMC mod.
7) In my case when i first arrived at cambridge station, rhys and haylen was naked. If so, use "resurrect" on them and it shoud be fixed. If it works, try to use "coc PrydwenHull01" command to teleport to Prydwen and check if anyone naked (kid squiers are untouched, so they should be vanilla). When i tried, everyhing was working as it supposed to be.
Glowmaps and pmc_extended are optional, so you guys can skip these steps.
This way instead of a replacer you create a "patch" (it's not how it's done but hey, it works). Therefore the original mod works, and the new patch you created just use its files on top of it so hopefully no naked npcs. It might work in mid-game saves, didn't check.
This fixed the issue for me My guess is that when you have PMC Extended it is overwritting the armors from nexus_pmc.esp. And since Extended has nexus_pmc as master you have to load it last. By following Mengu post i now have 3 esp and everything works fine (need to use resurect on Bos members already met ingame)
Love this mod! I was just wondering if it's possible to make it so that they wear the helmet that allows hair instead of the one that makes them bald? If anyone knows how to edit it please let me know
Made it work after messing around with FO4Edit. Load Nexus_PMC.esp with FO4Edit, open the Armor category and make these same changes for the Welding Helmet, Flight Helmet, Field Scribe's Hat, and Medical Goggles:
1.)First Person Flags: delete flag 31 - Hair Long
2.)Model: MODL - Armor Addon change it from AA_Tital_PMC_Helmet_Fast_Code [ARMA:01000883] into AA_Tital_PMC_Helmet_Fast_Code_Hair [ARMA:010008BE] which is immediately below it in the list.
This is what worked for me, hopefully the mod author doesn't mind.
Smilar Problem i cant use this Mod without all are Naked AF i tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked looked up for every Tip in The Comments nothing worked think Mod is Broken...
There was a glitch where half the npcs at the police station were naked. I used a command prompt to "resurrect" them and they reloaded with the pmc gear on. Don't know if this will work with everyone but it worked for me.
I seem to have some characers spawn naked but others aren't. The ones that are naked don't have any armor besides the regular BoS clothing in their inventory. Also Haylen and Rhys have their regular armors on, and Haylen is bald... Help?
