I wonder how difficulty it would be to create a charge card that can be ‘loaded’’ with money (essentially trade money to increase its value via a atm) and then you sell that to the vendor instead of paying for a item and you get back the card with the cost of what ever you brought taken off the value.
As far as I can tell from what I can do with FO4Edit, that'd require some outside scripting. That kinda thing is way beyond me. I'm sure someone could do it, but all my stuff is just edits.
A way around that could be crafting an item that requires caps a sort of similar idea exists in Skyrim certain NPCs if I remember correctly opened up a craft menu in values like 100, 1000, 10000. So you could add the crafting to NPC speech or to chem station given the trade style in game you'd trade the item for what you are buying. You could I think also make a special item a unique craft station for the item, tutorials for that I believe exist but may be Skyrim tutorials but the difference should be minor. Last there is a bank mod which you could add your item too as a patch and let it serve as the unique location for the cards. A good idea in my opinion is a Commonwealth Provisional Government credit.
Take New Vegas for instance, they had a mod that created a Central Bank, where you could trade stock from the different casinos and shops. They made it so some traders around Vegas offered the service of taking your money to and from the bank.
It`s not a credit card, but it`s something.
If I were to make a simple mod like this, I would make a Central bank, a card and several Bank Deposit Machines around the map where you could take bottle caps using your credit money, only by using your card (if you lose it, you gotta go back to the Central Bank).
This mod would only make real sense for ppl using mods that add weight to the caps.
There's actually a merchant in far harbor that turns charge cards into caps if I remember right. I wonder if you could get free money from that with this mod.
If you take the one bottlecap Parker gives you to Far Harbor then you can trade that for 200 caps. I didn't alter any of the form ids. Just swapped some models.
