Could you make a version that includes the BOS faction and ranking paints from https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34949?tab=files? Cause this would make this mod 10 times better! And it's already a great mod!
The reason the BOS don't use the X-02 is because they hate any technology they didn't make themselves. Since the Enclave made the X-02, and it was better than any armor they had access to, they just didn't bother with it and switched to the T-60 in spite of how much better the X-02 was.
The BOS in FO4 has many disturbing similarities to Bandits, such as extorting food for protection and enforcing their beliefs upon other people, regardless of what the other person wants. That is part of the reason I ruled out a Brotherhood ending for anything other than an achievement, because they have become a straightly played example of Space Nazis. Hearing that they took children out on their sorties made me more partial to joining the Nuka-World raiders than the BOS.
Not true at all. At there Core the Brotherhood are hoarders of all tech. Its there mission to keep it out of the hands of others. You can bet your socks they'd use the tech they got when they won at Adams Air Base in Fallout 3. In Fallout 4 the Brotherhoods goal to destroy the Institute makes no sense what so ever because they have tech. The Brotherhood want tech. Whoever wrote the Brotherhoods story for Fallout 4 knew nothing about the Brotherhoods background or its purpose.
Them going half way across the wasteland to start a war with a bunch of underground scientists who have no plans to destroy the surface to me only confirms my theory that the brotherhood consider anyone with tech a threat to them and want to keep the wasteland technologically beneath them under the guise of protecting while in reality they want to stay the most powerful.
Also I assumed maxson twisted the DC chapter original elder message of help and kindness with the brotherhoods need to protect humanity and created something evil in the process.
They very much do. You are right. The thing the casual and please I mean that as no insult, don't understand is that the Fallout Universe has no good or bad factions. Its all grey. All of the factions in Fallout has goals one could argue are in peoples best interest but what sets them apart is how they go about delivering said goals. Take the Legion in Fallout New Vegas. The regions they control are drug and crime free however there methods of achieving those goals are barbaric. Same goes for the NCR. They are a huge faction built on the idea of society yet they are corrupt to the core. Fallout is a wonderful puzzle to piece together and I thank people like you for putting the correct pieces in place. I will finish by asking, you do know that traditional Brotherhood colours are Blue and Gold right? Don't you find it interesting that Arthur Maxon's Brotherhood have Red as there chapters colours? Who else had Red in the D.C Wasteland?
The real reason the BOS don't use the X-02 is because bethesda redesigned the t45, made it look too different and decided to add it as the t60 instead of a t45 replacement.
Yeah the BOS should be wearing X02 as it is the better technology. But I feel like they would have repainted them gray to differentiate their forces from the Enclave.
Also they should be using plasma instead of laser rifles as they would have seized a whole ton of those after taking Adams Airforce base and Paladin Tristan and Sarah Lyons were already using plasma in Broken Steel
Speaking of Broken Steel someone really needs to create the Tesla Cannon in Fallout 4. It was a huge BOS project in Broken Steel and would have become a mainstay of the BOS arsenal
I can't agree about the Tesla Cannon. It was specifically built to shoot down Vertibirds and that's it. Since only the BoS and Enclave even HAVE working Vertibirds on the east coast (Gunner Vertibirds are implied to be stolen from the BoS, who stole them from the Enclave), it makes no sense to waste valuable storage space on the Prydwen or it's Vertibird escorts with large and bulky Tesla Cannons.
Should be using Plasma though, even if numbers of Plasma weapons were low, they would still have some of them used by more elite soldiers.
Is X-02 better than T60 though? Sure it may be more protective, but it's likely harder to maintain, requiring more rare metals to repair. (P.S. I see T60 as an upgrade/refit to T45 which the BoS obtained from Adams AFB, being better protection and similar durability to T45, but lesser protection than the likes of the more fragile T51).
I installed the mod and the required files, I have the armour, everything works fine, I'm able to customize it, but for some reason the eyes do not glow/light up when I turn the light on, they stay blank, could I get some help with this?
So they are still spawing with T60 in their inventories and some are wearing mix and match suits of T60 and X02. Also they still spawn with X02 after uninstall and on a fresh character
Edit: X02 still appearing after uninstall was on my end, forgot it was part of a merged patch
MAN CAN YOU DO THIS WITH MIDWEST POWER ARMOR OVERHAUL REPLACE WITH THIS I KNOW THIS WILL NOT BE LORE FRIENDLY BUT WILL BE COOL WITH THE DESERT OVERHAUL MOD THINK ABOUT IT

but yes the bos should be using x-02 and x-03 armor or at least x-02 and t-51
but the problem i have with this mod is it doesn't even use the correct paint...
