I actually wanted that when i made this mod, but the shape of the pistol grip does not fit the rifle animations. So you would have to make an animation overhaul as well.
Thanks this looks nice. Do you happen to know why each one has 2 nifs? I looked in original files and vanilla has two nifs for each too. are they exact duplicates or is there something different? Just asking coz I never liked the shape of the Full Stock or Marksmans stock really. Your mod improved them for sure but the best is definitely The Recoil Compensated! I may just keep that and create variations of it for the other two.
So, If I make a mesh edit to LaserRifleMarkmansStock.nif can I just copy-paste that nif and rename it LaserRifleMarkmansStock_1.nif ?? Are they just the same nifs only renamed?
I just made these Quickly for marksman. https://imgur.com/lDoX9KB. https://imgur.com/n3Ck7Uj . They don't look nice but I really dislike the standard ones, just the shapes of them. Your re-positioning is Awesome tho. I might try Something else for full stock or maybe use Recoil compensating in its original position. idk. Hmm, idk yet.
I think hopefully making edits to these meshes are fairly basic an only need nifskope really. Each trishape has no real detailed info like clothing does. There is no Translation numbers that will move it etc in game to an undesired position that I can see.
My very first mod I had no idea what I was doing compared to now but I swapped the Nuka world AK shovel stock for the pipgun recoil compensation stock and it worked fine, even though it was a totally different weapon.
Haven't directly checked this, but one is much lower poly and must be the LOD model. So if anything, you would copy the larger and more detailed _1 mesh over the smaller one. Their dimensions seem to be identical, so if you only do some transforms in Nikskope, you can apply them 1:1 to the LOD model.
And yeah the meshes are unweighted, so you can do pretty much anything. Don't know if there are any creation club reskins for this which could be problematic, but i personally don't support using the CC anyways. As mentioned below, for the Full Stock i also used Outfit Studio to split the stock from the grip, since i'm more familiar with that. For some reason, the Nifskope-edited stock shows up deformed after loading it back into OS.
BTW your own stock creation also looks pretty good, you could upload that along with the shovel stock replacer.
Oh yeah I didn't think about retextures. Thanks for the feedback. I've also noticed sometimes stuff gets weird in nifskope after using Outfit Studio to edit it
Because the coils in the laser gun release so much energy that the air molecules evaporate at light speed, which also makes the "Qwop! Qwop!" sound!
Haha, no that's probably not the case; Fallout also is not a Science Fiction setting, but a sociocritical and thus political comedy. It's not exactly hidden between the lines, since the intro movie already speaks very blatant about what could potentially happen with our world if we don't change a couple of things ASAP. And the game is full of bizarre parodies of the "dark side of the american dream", like the militarism, consumerism, destructive exploitation of the environment, and so on. There is no way to misinterpret this, unless trying really hard to be ignorant about it.
So yeah, just like nuclear material doesn't glow green, people don't turn into ghouls, or virtually anything on topic of physical laws or the RPG mechanics, the laser recoil is just part of the (fantasy) setting in Fallout. It exaggerates most things to the point of "ad absurdum", and that obviously includes the classic science fiction genre where spaceship engines make sound and lasers make pew-pew. I am also aware of the issue that a very large part of the playerbase doesn't want to hear about this political aspect of the game, but "it is what is it", in a manner of speaking.
Yes this was also my first- or second idea when looking at this, apparently they've also tried this in the linked mod that inspired this one. Main problem is that the pistol grip won't fit into the vanilla Laser Rifle animations. So this would be a task for people who actually do 3D modeling/anims.
The Recoil- and Marksman stock could be done exclusively with Nifskope, and i separated the Full Stock from its grip with Outfit Studio. No idea about animations though, there probably will be the usual problems with Power Armor and bash killmoves.

Replaced the main file with a FOMOD installer where you can pick which stocks you want.
This is the same mod without any changes, so if you have the previous "All In One" already installed, there is no need to download.

Anyway man, Nice work!
