Just a quick note, this mod does require bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 under the [Camera] section in either your fallout4.ini or fallout4custom.ini (I recommend the latter, as this one was made to be used for users to edit).
Instructions: 1. You can find the configs under the following path in windows %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 2. Open fallout4custom.ini with notepad or your favourite text editor (notepad++ for me) 3. Look for the [Camera] heading, if you can't find it then simply copy and paste the below in on a new line [Camera] bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0
Otherwise, apply the line above to the [Camera] section.
If you are using any mods that enable the camera node animations, then this can conflict with this mod as it relies on being able to apply the camera settings without the node interfering.
Also, I am not going to incorporate an automatic turn on for this setting as I feel that if I started doing that then it would take control away from the fallout4custom.ini.
* I've removed some notifications that were popping up under some circumstances * I've also fixed an issue with the editing keys being live when they shouldn't of been enabled unless in the editing mode.
This mod all what I want. Thank you! Just have one question? I want to little zoom out from actor in 3rd Person. I think I can do it with fVanityModeMaxDist setting but what is mod's default fVanityModeMaxDist setting? I want to use it as a reference.
Hi there, glad you enjoy it! The default value for fVanityModeMaxDist seems to be 150 for Fallout 4. This mod doesn't modify this value, but rather adds/subtracts from the zoom in/out that you define for your character.
E.g. if you use the default, you can only zoom from 0 - 150, on a sliding scale using the middle mouse scroll. Then based on this value, when you modify the Z value, it'll add/subtract from this.
If you are looking for less zoom out then change the fVanityModeMaxDist < 150, and you won't be able to zoom out as far.
With my INI settings for both the prefs and fallout.ini as seen below I've achieved the perfect balance! yayyz! Thank you so much, keegars, I appreciate you! [Camera] bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 fVanityModeMaxDist=200.0000 fVanityModeMinDist=100.0000 With these settings you will have a perfect aim set up for 3rd person (won't ruin 1st person at all) but your PipGirl will be zoomed in way too close. Simply adjust the FOV between 65 and 75 and you're set.
To tag onto this for others coming here: [Camera] ini settings are only valid in fallout.ini, putting them in falloutprefs.ini does nothing. Don't make the mistake I did of only putting it in prefs and assuming it didn't work because I didn't see the changes happening. falloutCustom.ini should also work to put all the ini changes in, but I didn't test that at all.
hello and nice mod first installed it before any other mod, but somehow i got a bug when i use something that changes the cam, expl.: i use the bycle to get a buff and then the camera seems to do its own stuff meaning it does not go to my profil settings. anyone having this sort of issue?
I had this problem in skyrim, I used the console command "setstage ski_configmanagerinstance 1" without the quotation marks and it forced MCM to look for new mods. It might help this problem
Anybody know if this is curently broken in next-gen? I used to use this, but having recently coming back to the game, it doesn't work for me anymore, just wanna know if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's just the update doing what it does best.
Is there any mod that gives you the additional camera sticked to face of the character like in old Wolfenstein and Doom games? Something like this inHUD camera in Survivalist: Invisible Strain
Yeah I think it just isn't going to work on Next-Gen. I have been using this instead: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/49822 It's not quite as easily customizable but it's the best one I've found that still functions correctly. Actually if you use that mod and this mod together, this one seems to work correctly. I'm not sure why, but that mod adds it's own .ini which contains bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 . Perhaps that is why it works and enables this one to work, cus it seems adding that to the Fallout4.ini doesn't do what it used to do.
hello sorry to bother you guys but does mod allow you to save 3rd person zoom level I would like to save it at the furthest zoomed out when i go to workshop or sanctuary it zooms it in ty 👍
I am having a weird question, this mod works great in default and gun combat camera setting, however all of my setting to melee camera seem to be ignored.
in the MCM setting folder, my E3PC.ini now look like: [Standing] fGeneralZAxis=-35.000000 fMeleeYAxis=0.000000 fGunZAxis=-35.000000 fGeneralXAxis=40.000000 fGunXAxis=70.000000 fMeleeXAxis=0.000000 fMeleeZAxis=-150.000000 [Sneaking] fGeneralZAxis=-30.000000 fGunZAxis=-30.000000 fMeleeYAxis=0.000000 fMeleeZAxis=-30.000000 fMeleeXAxis=70.000000 fGunXAxis=70.000000 fGeneralXAxis=40.000000 [Main] bModEnabled=1 but the melee camera is still vanilla.. really weird
Currently the Next Gen update came out and MCM is broken. F4SE just recently kinda? left beta. We gotta wait for MCM to get updated before we can see anything actually change. My install is broken and my cam is dead center on my character no matter what I do, lol. I'm just waiting a few weeks for everything to get updated, then things should start working normally again.

Right now i have
[Camera]
bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0
fVanityModeMaxDist=200.0000
fVanityModeMinDist=100.0000
And this is in fallout4.ini fallout4.prefs.ini and fallout4custom.ini to no avail
Im losing my mind trying to get this to work because it works great until i try to aim or start strafing at which point it wigs out
I would like to save it at the furthest zoomed out
