Don't use scrap everything mods, they break precombines, basically where objects are kinda merged with everything else around them to improve performance from my understanding
Doubt grass is precombined, they're just 2d doodads so no mesh to combine. If you move the grass setting to minimum they're removed entirely. Another less jarring way is to change imingrass size (20 is default) to 30 or 40 so the grass doodads are more thinly spread out. But what would be great is simply a mod which shortens the height ranges of the taller grasses by roughly half so they don't always grow through floors everywhere but instead just here and there somewhat. And do so on vanilla grass too.
Until then there's the mod Better Landscape Grass, which removes a lot of vanilla grass from areas where this author thinks it wouldn't normally grow. Good but a tad aggressive imho - i.e. taking all or almost all grass from any asphalt regardless of whether it's in or around a vanilla or buildable settlement. A less aggressive version of that mod combined with shorter grass would be ideal.
I down loaded and installed spring in the commonwealth version, and it works well. Nexus won't let me endorse the mod though, says I have to down load the mod first. P.S. The mod is easy to flag as esl, so you have an esp flagged as esl.

I know scrap everything could probably do it but I am scared of that mod as I used it in the past and it caused many issues like random crashes.
This also may break mods that rely on them

And GRASSLANDS was made in 2016, last updated in 2016...
How did this mod made much later become a requirement?
