    If you're using MO2, it uses it's own INI file:
    click the puzzle icon in MO2 to edit the correct INI file!

    Unable to enter the game after input. Are there any other changes needed? Currently using NAC X.

    The BAT method is also not working. Or did I put the .txt file in the wrong place? It should be in the right place, right next to fallout 4.exe, right?

    This is incredible!!! Something about the characters, especially the faces, had always bothered me and now I know what it was! I've set the glow to 0.005 and it just looks so much better!

    Great information, don't forget to download and endorse

    BAT FILE RECOMMENDED

    This is my old ini start command line
    [GENERAL]
    "startcommandscrabledbyinternet"= load mysave;fov 87 87;cl off;gr off;set timescale to 10

    now I use this
    "startcommandscrabledbyinternet"= bat start

    and have a txt file named start.txt in Fallout 4 folder with this text
    load mysave
    fov 87 87
    cl off
    gr off
    set timescale to 10

    With BAT file you don't need to change ini, just use the bat command
    If you let your ini file run the bat you can change commands in the bat txt and never touch the ini again
    You can also share the bat in mods etc and people only need one line in their ini file
    You can use the BAT file to add starting spells, summon followers, and lots of things
    If you are ambitious see my post on Stovies Weather and Interior Overhaul about rim light off by ESP file
    thanks again robotgeant

    I added sStartingCjavascript-event-strippedcl off and the version from the comment below to GENERAL section in Fallout4.ini in "My Documents/My Games" folder. Nothing changed. Any tips? It works only manually from console command in game sadly. This is driving me nuts :\

      If you are still looking for an answer, Nexusmods is censoring the correct command for some reason. Just look at the post by deynger from "17 February 2023" where he put up an image of the command so it would not get overwritten by the site.

      EDIT: Or just look for the next best post. Before I answered, your post did not get shifted up and the post mentioned by me was right above.

    Does somebody know the exact reason why this isn't possible on console? I'm not sure I follow, why does an ini tweak to disable godrays work on Xbox but not for character light?

      Maybe it does work but no one tried it. Try doing it yourself. Or make a request on reddit maybe someone have the time and knowledge to make it possible on Xbox.

      Did try with the command from the images in here, unfortunately it didn't work. The settings I changed for field of view worked so I know that the ini got uploaded correctly, but I wonder if there is an alternative way to make it happen?

    OMG THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH !!!!!

    For like 4 weeks I have been trying to figure out why suddenly everyone and everythig starts to glow in the dark..Checks and cleaned mods, un installed mods to do with weather, lighting, NAC, reading .ini and pref help, troubleshooting, you name it. Nothing came up..

    As soon as I type in cl off it all went back to normal.

    Another way to add this command on startup is this way

    C:\Users\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini
    add under General like shown

    For me it only worked this way. I hope this will help someone else because i had a hard time to fix it.
