The Vanilla version of this works with NACX Legacy no need for the patch. It needed the separate patch for the NAC so it wont conflict coz NAC made its own changes to the sunset sunrise schedule but NACX stayed vanilla. This mod however has 1 major flaw and that is - this mod changed sunrise schedule to start at 6am and end at 6am so its a drastic change in the morning. I had to edit morning schedules back to vanilla in the FO4Edit. Otherwise, thank you for this mod! I was having second thoughts on switching from TrueStorms to NACX because TrueStorms has its own built in schedule for longer nights like this.
First, I apologize for being a lazy person. I have an unpublished NACX version. I will look into the points you mentioned. I spend a lot of time tweaking ENB presets these days. It seems that the time has come to review including this MOD.
what happens if i downloaded the vanilla and just choose to run it below NAC X in the load order? My hope is that NACX is compatible with the vanilla tweak files since NACX didnt make any changes in the vanilla sunset and sunrise sched like NAC did.
Edit: it works the only thing i hate about it is that the mod changed sunrise to start at 6am and end at 6am so its a drastic change for morninglight lel the author only focused on nighttime
I would like to start out by saying that I like this mod, it looks good, and has been made very well. I would, however, also like to answer your question. The reason it stays bright all the way up until late at night is because it is mimicking real life summers, at least in North America anyways. I can't really vouch for how it is with the rest of the world (although I would assume it's the same), but it is like this in North America. In mid Summer the sun is generally visible until around 9 or 10 at night and then it starts to get dark, which is why Fallout 4 does it, because it's mid Summer in Fallout 4. Not sure why they never implemented seasons like some mods did, that would make more sense to adjust sunset and sunrise times depending on season. Anyways, that's why the sun stays out so long. Sunset at 7PM would be more reminiscent of Fall, not Summer. A good example for us here locally (Canada), the sunrise in June would be at around 4:00AM, while the Sunset would be at around 10:00PM. You can access sunset/sunrise calculators online to help analyze when a sunset or sunrise would occur during different times of the year. You also have to take into account that hours or illumination changes depending on the season as well, with there being more hours of illumination in Summer than there are in the Winter. I am not bashing your mod in the least, I hope this doesn't come off as my attempting to tear it down, because I'm not. All I am saying is if you would like to go for realism, you would need to adjust based on time of year, because not every time of the year has the same Sunrise and Sunset schedule. Changing it to be earlier or later is still just following the same formula Bethesda created, just at different times, without fixing the actual issue. Anyways, still a good mod, I see no bugs with it as far as I can tell, which is the most important. Good work.
Thank you Venrexx for information on North America I live in Japan and I don't know the climate of Boston. As you said, there was speculation that in Boston the night sky would be bright. But in the end, I chose my own immersive feeling rather than realism. The world is wide, there may be other users who have a close affinity for the day - night cycle produced by this MOD.
There was a mod in Skyrim that was attempting to change the game via SKSE and a dll file to dynamically change the times of sunrise and sunset for different times of the year. It has been stalled for almost a year now. Apparently the guy making it lacked the expertise to make the required dll, so he found someone else to do so, but then real life cut off the time that person had to work on the project.
At present the best way to handle the situation is (combined with other seasonal texture / clothing mods) to have one mods per season or month that adjust the time of sunrise / sunset - and just remember to switch between them when entering another season / month.
Unfortunately I’m not familiar with extension plugins. If it switches automatically, MOD like "Fallout 4 Seasons - Grass - Trees - Plants - Snow" will shine better than my MOD. I have been waiting for years, but such a wonderful MOD doesn’t seem to come out :'(
Your 7:45pm pictures both say "before". I believe one of them is supposed to say "after" (the darker one, I assume). Just wanted to let you know. The changes you've made look nice. Also, would you be willing to combine the "Vanilla, Main", "Vanilla, Far Harbor" and the "Vanilla, NukaWorld" files?
Thank you, I fixed it. I'm so tired Each is a separate file. The main file is commonwealth only. It is also necessary for each DLC. I made it with ESL attribute which is not counted in all plugins.
