The version 1.2 removes the chest containing the Workshop spawner, it doesn't remove the gun if you already have it. You can now craft the gun at any Chemist workbench for 1 cap, you'll find it under the category "Settle Everywhere".
The settlements workshops (Other than the one you can spawn) are no longer automatically unlocked when starting the game. This change is not retroactive and won't affect pre-existing saves.
Ok so I've read through a lot of comments and I think this should clear up most of your questions and complaints:
I am fairly certain that this is just a way to spawn a workbench using the SAME METHOD AS CONSOLE COMMANDS, without opening the console. It provides no additional functionality.
So it won't be an actual settlement and you will still have to break precombines to scrap alot of things in the area. It's used best to alter the landscape only. If you want to remove the workbench, open console, click on workbench and type "disable" then hit enter.
If we spawn a workbench in an area where enemies normally respawn, will enemies just randomly spawn in our new base forever every few days? Or does this mod prevent enemy spawns in that area from then on somehow?
In my experience, enemies respawn as they normally would, even if you have spawned a workbench in the area. This goes for both interior and exterior locations and can lead to some rather funny and unexpected moments.
great mod, honestly a must have, but im having an issue where my settlements arent recognized by the game as actual settlements, e.g. i cant assign settlers to it, theres mods to add placeable settlers but they just run around like headless chickens and it feels less authentic than if they were to actually be doing something, if ANYONE knows a fix for this, i will forever be in your debt
update: i was able to make settlers part of the settlement/faction and i can assign them, but as soon as i do they just walk away and unassign
I'm having an issue where the junk I put in the workshop doesn't show up in any workbenches I place, so I have to manually transfer materials to be able to craft anything, is there a fix to this?
How do you remove a workbench/settlement if you made a mistake at placing it? Like if you want to move the workbench, don't want a settlement there, or simply don't like how the workbench looks.
Safest way to undo things in this game is to to load up a save before whatever action you want to undo, which is why you should always save before anything you do so you can always fall back on it.
As this mod description sates "the effect would be permanent", this I believe is the only way to reverse placing a workshop in your game, which is what I would do.
I have an issue with the benches not being where I placed them if I travel away and come back. I opted to try Fairline Hill as my first use of this, it worked quite well. I left to get some things to set up electricity etc, and when I jumped back, the benches were history, along with all the stuff I had scrapped. Any thoughts of what I may be doing wrong?
