    ATTENTION!
    Version 2.0 is not coming. I've changed the name, the looks and the philosophy (or structure, if you will) of the mod, so I've decided to upload it as a separate file.
    The new MIER, or as I've called it, the Rheinmetall EG-7 Energiegewehr, is available HERE
    I'll leave the MIER as a legacy or for the ones who likes this one better than the new one for whatever reason (don't know any reason for it though ).

    I've decided to keep the progress updates here. I may forget to list some of the discussed features here, I will re-read all of the comments and write down all of the discussed ideas that I feel I should implement after the release of all the main parts. You can as well check my profile Images page, I'm usually posting pictures of completed parts there.

    one bug is here...when create gun in chem.bench and try to edit in weapon bench,game complete crash on Desktop... any solution??? i was try to reinstal mod,same thing

      Most likely you're running outdated Fallout 4. Update your game.

      It's weird. Usually AWKCR helped for people having this issue. Do you have any mods altering vanilla plasma rifle or something? Do you use plugin sorting software?

      I think I've nailed it. This keyword IDs is the vanilla keyword types for material swapping (to change skins). You have crashes on this because your Fallout 4 game version is not up to date. Updating your game to the latest version should fix the issue.

    Hello Utherien
    I'm on a new play thru and roughly close to level 20 , and have the laser mier, with a couple of upgrades, but is there a perk requirement or level requirement to get the damage modifier showing at weapons bench ?
    Tried reading thru comments and description, slightly tired atm , and too lazy to check further, I do have couple points in gun perks n such , but not seeing a dmg mod at station ?

      No, I didn't put any requirements for it. Do you see damage modifiers for another barrels? Did you see modifiers on your previous playthrough?

      I did see damage modifiers previuosly but not seeing now, I'm only level 20 atm... will try shifting it down, ...

      Drop all the MIERs you have in inventory minus the one you want to modify. If you have more than one MIER in your inventory it messes with some of the modification options.

      Well, I can say it's quite weird one. That another issue is turned out to be nothing to do with yours (not a mod issue, actually). And right now I'm testing new retextures on a fresh level 2 character with bare minimum of mods enabled (and AWKCR is not among them) and everything is working as intended.
      All I can think of is maybe try to make clean reinstall (remove the gun, save, quit, uninstall the mod, load, save again, quit, install the mod). It have zero scripts, so it won't do any harm to your save.

      Just did some testing on a clean install with only the MIER mod. Made two MIERs (M-A First in list and M-B Second in list) Both weapons modifier list matches List 1.
      List 1: (Default modifier options for in order, top to bottom)
      Extended Capacity MFC
      Barrel (type)
      Assault Stock
      Wavelength setting
      Standard Issue Handguard
      Damage Modifier
      Attachment
      Pistol grip
      Standard sights
      Capacitor
      Skin
      List 2 (modified weapon options in order, top to bottom)
      Extended Capacity MFC
      Barrel (type)
      Assault Stock
      Standard Issue Handguard
      Pistol grip
      Standard sights
      Capacitor
      Skin

      -Both weapons match default list (list 1).
      -Attached plasma barrel to M-A modification now missing damage and attachment mod (list 2). M-B, no change.
      -Rotated M-A through all barrels, no change options still missing.
      -Attached plasma barrel to M-B, both weapons match (list 1) minus wavelength.
      -Switched M-A back to laser, options missing (list 2).
      -Switched M-B back to laser, all options present in both weapons (list 1).
      -Switched M-A to plasma, options missing (list 2).
      -Dropped both weapons on the ground.
      -Picked up M-A (plasma) all options present (list 1) minus wavelength
      -Picked up M-B (laser) options missing (list 2).
      -Dropped both weapons on the ground
      -Picked up M-B (laser) all options present (list 1)
      -Picked up M-A (plasma) options missing (list 2)

      On interesting thing, if you did not notice, is the Wavelength setting did not return to the laser even though plasma and laser barrel do not share that modification. I can understand the shared modifications stepping on each other, but why the missing Wavelength? It's a head scratcher for sure.

      Well, I'm planning to separate one gun into different guns for each damage type in 2.0 anyway. It will be a lot easier to balance and maintain. One will still be able to have any type of weapon by exchange recipe at Chemistry station.

      So that's the reason why I'm separating them in 2.0. Right now any rebalancing requires me to cover myself in paper written all over and my desk is looking like matematician's flipchart

      Even in its current state the MIER is a great weapon and mod. Like others have mentioned, energy weapons are second class citizens in Fallout 4 making the MIER a welcomed addition. Improving it for a 2.0 release is icing on an energy cake.

    works great & I am quite enjoying its options, my only personal gripe is the Plasma type rounds (The type I went for) seam to clip wall edges really easy making it harder to hit a enemy hiding behind said-edge...thou I am atm assuming this is a Vanilla game gripe with regular Plasma guns too, due to semi-bubbly shaped bullets, but I have never used that gun type until your mod, laser guns looked cooler & I love the Bolt Gun from that Space Marine Power Armor mod.

      Yep, that's right, the gun uses vanilla projectiles, so you can expect every pros and cons of the vanilla plasma projectiles in this one. Except for Plasma Cannon. It has self-guidance, you just need to aim to lock it on your target and shoot around a corner. Just beware of the explosion

    Seriously, I'm a fan of energy (in particular plasma) weapons and I also didn’t really like the vanilla versions.
    Well, they may look good, but I wanted more variety. And then accidentally stumbled upon your mod.
    I tried so far only the laser version and I like it.
    I really like. I didn’t get that pleasure from energy weapons in FO4 ... Never.
    Only having recently installed the classic P-94 experienced nastolgiyu and pleasure, and now also your mod brings joy.
    Continue to develop it (for example, you can make the standard handguard a little lower, which would be like
    with a flashlight, correctly lay in your hands, or add new optical sights, more futuristic look.

      I thought about making something like sci-fi optical sight, not sure about thermal though (don't know how to do it yet). Maybe I'll do it later.
      Right now I'm planning to fix some issues with damage output and maybe LL injection, after that I want to focus on my another project, HK 78 energy carbine (ex-MEW).

    What is it with these design lights in weapons?

    Tactical flashlights on weapons aside, I think weapons like these, with useless decorative design lights constantly shining on them, would be tactical disasters!

    Don't be insulted, I'm just saying! XD

    Obviously I know they are there because they look cool and I know these points aren't really valid in Fallout but immersively speaking you could be seen from a mile away in the dark and it might be harder to aim with weird lights coming from your gun.

    Actually... I just remembered I've got a laser musket mod that adds "shrouded light chambers" which shields some of the light and muffles the crank sound a bit for stealth perks.

    Would you know how to design a weapon like what I'm talking about?

    I'm not asking you for free gifts or anything! XD I'm just talking for the sake of talking, to throw around ideas.

      Since you mentioned flashlight, its sometimes actually better to have a flash / torch light look on your gun and not un heard of, I'm not a gun geek, and sometimes I do and dont like having a torch light, but it depends on how your playing even a stealthy char can still use a torch type light on their gun and give away the position ...
      Technically yes , a bright neon ish lights on a gun might be seen from miles away, but you have to think about , this is fo4 magic time, mobs like raiders n such may not even see the gun How we see it, hmmmm ? xD

      I'm agree, in real world no one in good mind would use weapons with so much glowing stuff in the dark
      In this case it's all about style. After all, science fiction is called 'fiction' for a reason. For example, in real world, AFAIK, military industry refused to research walking mechs just because classic wheeled and tracked vehicles are much more efficient, and there is many flaws like this in science fiction, but it still look cool, right?
      Anyway, thank you for your reply, any opinion matters to me! Now I have something to think about for my second weapon project, MEW (which will have different name on release).
