I recently downloaded this mod and fell in love with it immediately. Let me state my true gratitude to the author. To explain further, I have cerebral palsy (mild on my right side). This mod quickly relieves so much pressure and eliminates the minor pain in my dominant left hand when I'm playing on a controller that it’s amazing. I can now focus on enjoying one of my favorite games with one less barrier.  I also am thinking that this will help with general overuse fatigue I tend to get on my left side hand and joints.  Right now, I  suck at FPS "mode "as I tend to use VATS but I have no problem learning the ropes as a trade off! Lol. Thank you, QuietPippin.

Been trying to figure this out for years.  Can't believe this mod has just been sitting here, waiting for me to stumble across it.  Thank you so, so much.  I haven't touched VATS since Fallout 3...and yet I only play this game with Gamepad.  What a waste of space!

Also, I am using my PS5 controller plugged in w/ USB and this mod works flawlessly.  Thank you!

you asked about being able to change a button to toggle walk. You can do this in steam's big picture mode.

you go into library (through big picture)

    select library, fallout 4

    go to controller configurations

    browse configurations

find one that binds buttons to keyboard strokes, or make your own

bind caps lock to something (I did the share button on ps4 contoller)

    Works in game

the annoyance is sometimes you have to use the mouse or keyboard for something in game, but not too often.

Yeah , automove is something I don't even know about but a controller button to replace vats with a walk toggle would be great . I know xpadder is an option for that but then your on screen buttons for other stuff ( other mods etc ) won't really tally . I find it daft that they didn't give controller users the chance to bind the walk button like keyboard users get .

      Yep.
A shame someone even considers using a third party tool to make a standard controller work with standard mouse and keyboard.
I never thought about that. youre not allowed to change all controller bindings? why?

Theres always this lack of options in the Bethesda menus - and im not going to start talking about fov sliders or something like that...

because of your question in the description:
Did you try to set bAlwaysRunByDefault=0 ? located in the Fallout4Prefs.ini

I disable controller input ingame and use Xpadder for my Xbox 360/1 controller in Fo4 with keyboard hotkeys mapped on it.
If i set bAlwaysRunByDefault=0 and hit the button on the controller which is linked to the keyboard key for auto move im walking slow :)

I use this setup to be able in Fo4 to walk with my controller in the left hand while aming with my mouse in the right hand. Best from both worlds - and the keyboard for hotkeys :)
