Separated the face gen files into its own download. The purpose of this is so you only download it once, all future update you can just download the ESP.
Stopped supporting specialty files (e.g. Male only, female only, no DLC, no settler). It is too big of task to update/bug fix so many version and their frequency of use just doesn't justify the effort. I am sorry if that is a bummer.
A big thanks to Repzik for providing a patch and an easy roadmap to fix the lingering bugs.
Just a note, if you split up the leveled lists into smaller "chunks" of max 20-25 records per leveled list the engine handles it a lot better, and you can have a lot of branching leveled lists without any stutter. Aka you don't have to remove any faces. I've done it for my own game but thought I'd mention it here. I can send you the esp (older version though) if you want to see how to do it easily.
The game really struggles to load leveled lists of 30+ records so it's usually a good idea to use many smaller leveled lists in these cases.
LITE version is for better performance as there are less records to process, however it will provide less variety in faces. The variety is still at least triple that of Vanilla.
Is there any way to remove this mod mid-playthrough? Since the mod only affects non-unique NPCs, if I just go in an interior cell alone, disable the plugin and wait 3 days for LLs to update, will anything break?
Unfortunately, the game ignores FaceGen data even if they are created, this mod will cause stuttering unfortunately. Not because the mod is bad! But because the game doesn't work so well, or rather it doesn't work at all with mods and FaceGen.
The game doesn't 'ignore' FaceGen; too many examples say otherwise... DLCs, many mods including this, etc.
The mod has worked and nothing changed. This mod needs load order set right or yes, it gets overwritten by other mods that might have conflicting data records such as Leveled NPC modifications. Now if you mean there's something finicky about FaceGen--then say that--but to say it's ignored or "doesn't work at all" is false.
Face Gen it doesn't work for any mod. it only works for esm and esp from developers. all new mods, it does not matter if there is data from them, they will not be used and will simply create faces in real-time mode.
Yeah, I was wrong as I've (in the past) mistaken faces being different from what facegen is intended to do, not have faces modified in realtime. This issue is now resolved with X-Cell.
