I've been using it in my new playthrough (despite the horizon page saying not to use old patches) and have had no issues so far a few hours in, just make sure you get the alignment patch too
Having some bugs -- not all of the scopes are see-through with the Replacer version of this mod and the original mod. Tried using the Short Scope but it's not see-through.
thats a bit finneky, you installed it worng, if you have the replacer i think you need a newly spawned gun for it to work and if you use replacer you need to use the 4x or 6x scpoe instead, either way it will never work on a gun with a scope on it already
It doesn't work on my game, the game crashes on the main menu. I'm on Horizon 1.8.0 and See-Through Scopes 2.3.3. I've arranged my load order like the tutorial suggested. I've tried both Replacer and Non-Replacer variants none of them work.
What is unsupported about this? I see a bunch of constructible objects using obsolete items, and going through and cleaning it now. Does anyone else know of anything that needs to be updated?
I had the same problem, what version are you using? After I tried the 2.1.1 of STS the game stopped crashing. The only problem I noticed is if you're using the merge weapon pack, some scopes cannot be build because of some items that horizon marked as old.
Pretty huge issue here, I cannot use any of the optional patches included with STS without it breaking the game horribly. If I activate any of the optional ESP's (Service Rifle, Wattz 3000, etc) all of the new optics are added to every weapon in the game. It also starts to introduce duplicates of the scopes that aren't using the new Horizon skills and balance changes. It doesn't matter where I put them in my load order, it's always the same.
Hello one question why do you replace some of the values of the scopes from horizon like stability, Vats cost and Zoom level? isnt easier or better to just add the functionality to to the scopes and leave this values the same as horizon? Also you change some of the model paths of the combat plasma and custom rilfe?
I am testing your patch I just wanted to know this before hand.
The vats and stability changes result from how the new scopes scale. The default values for See Through Scopes are 4x for short scope, 8x for medium scope, 8x again for long scope, and an additional 2.5x combat scope. I rolled the seperate combat scope into the short scope and transferred the 4x values to the medium scope for consistency, vats and stability values were adjusted from that. The basic Horizon zoom values dont play that nice with See Through Scopes and if i left the stability values at default, 2.5x scopes for example wouldnt be very usable.
In regards to the model paths thats the only way to get see through scopes working on these weapons, since their default mesh is missing a behaviour file link. Without it you would look at solid black scopes when aiming in.
Edit: After some testing i have reverted some of the changes to vats and stability; Replacer scopes still use 2.5x, 4x and 8x magnifications from See Through Scopes, but their object effects are back to default Horizon values.
Well.... reading that explanation (plus the recent update for merge pack support) convinced me to drop my frankenstein self patch and use this one instead. I'll be testing it later tonight.
