It seems bethesda did created everything to cast those Water Particle Drops on the player... i even found a way to enable Rain Drops Splash in the ground.. It never ceases to amaze how Bethesda leave all this stuff just there. It blows my mind how much stuff they end up just disabling and left unused. I am not sure if it's a good or bad thing :/
Next update will also include Water Rain Drops making little splash in the ground.
Here is a small Teaser for Raindrops Splash in v1.10:
FINAL EDIT: A clean re-install of the mod (save, disable, load, save, enable) fixed all previous bugs. Mod works perfect now! Great mod, endorsed!!
Hey. I just experienced rain with this mod. Good effect overall.
I do have a bug though. There is like the wet-shader is running across my screen every ~5 seconds or so. It only happens in 3rd person. Took a screen of the bug here, it kinda flows like the wetshader itself so it was hard to capture: https://imgur.com/a/5AjPU17 Any idea what causes this or how I can fix?
Also, just as a suggestion, I still think the effect would look better if it was slightly less pronounced. Maybe in paint.net it could get maybe 50% transparancy added? I'm very excited for the rain drop update though :-) Endorsed for sure, keep up the good work
EDIT: Tried with your alternate textures (and reduced its opacity by 50%). Still the same bug. Uploaded a new screenshot, you can see like something that looks like a thunder below the text. The alternate texture btw seems to be much faster than the vanilla, and not nearly as good as vanilla texture imo.
EDIT2: Just tried a new rain retexture, I used FO4Rain before, More intensive rain mod now. Still the same bug. Tried disabling your mod, and the problem went away. So it seems to be this mod causing it sadly, hope it can be fixed.
Could it be the cloak-effect that is showing up as a FX instead of invisible? Not sure how it works, but the fx seems like sorta a bubble and it seems to mostly occurs closeby, between around 0-100meter from the char
I deleted all materials/textures from FO4Rain. I just tried downloading a vanilla 99% complete save. Tried with only your mod activated on 99% - no bug. Tried with all my mods activated on 99% - no bug. Tried my previous save with all mods activated - Yes bug. Tried my previous save with only your mod - no bug.
No idea what could causing it. I have your mod at the very bottom of the list. Would it be a mod conflict, if it works with all mods on 99% save? Maybe it could be new game start with your mod activated that causes it - but then why does it work with only your mod on?
Okay, I did a clean reinstall of the mod on my save, and everything works perfect now!! No idea what went wrong, but that's modding for ya :D Great work, I really appreaciate it! Endorsed for sure, and edited my first post with the info!
Just a suggestion for next update, consider making the textures much more transparant (maybe 75% more transparant from my tests with fluidsplat02) (both rain-drops from the characters, and the fluidsplat02). The effect becomes much more lifelike if it is more subtle and bad UV is not as noticeable. What is the texture for the physical water-droplets from npc's btw, so i can make those more transparent?
Okay, I thought fluidsplat02 was only the texture that ran across the NPC/PC body. I am talking about the water-drops that physically drop off the body. That doesn't seem to be fluidsplat02, I think? Thanks :-)
That's actually a Mesh Particle, "WaterDrippingShaderParticles.nif" should tell you which Textures are being used, but you will need to use latest version of NifSkope for that. I have not take a look to that specific nif file.
maybe a little late, this happens if you have a mesh loaded, maybe from an outfit or weapon, which has the "high precision" vertex flag enabled, its an engine bug in fo4. i learned this while wearing the casio watch and excessive blood spray, same problem, effects would spread all over the screen. you have to load up the outfit piece in os, then right click the shape, select properties and disable the high precision flag. then export it and youre good to go. you can also do this with nifskope but from my experience the mesh turns invisible if you de-flag the shape in nifskope, youre better off doing that in outfit studio.
Thank you for sharing mod! I have question for the author. Is it possible to flow water droplets on the body like oblivion's Get Wet mod?I'm just curious. Get Wet
Definitely. My version was actually based on GetWet for Oblivion, but i found out there was a WaterFlow texture inside the bsa, so i used that one. i can upload an alternate Texture that kinda resembles the one from GetWet. There is an issue by the way, the water seems to flow erratically left/right and up, i can't do much about that since it is how the parts of some of the model were UV. The effect seems to best on meshes who are mostly one big mesh group.
You can grab the Texture from that mod (GetWet.dds) then rename it to "FluidSplat02_d.dds" and place it in Fallout 4 Textures:
Thank you kindly. It was really easy to understand.
I haven't detailed knowledge about effect, so not understand the mechanism well, I found shader that ignores the flow of UV. I used this mod so that I can see the effect immediately. Player Shader Effects That shader's name is "DetectLifePATargetFXS". Not limited to this, most of the shaders named detect seem to work similarly. There is problem of symmetry(just body center), but there are no seam and seems that flowing perfectly from head to foot so far. I copied the shader and changed the settings. Texture is your WaterFlow texture. Here is the result. https://i.imgur.com/oYKM0Op.jpg I'm not sure if it's going to be of any use. I'm sorry if you knew this effect already. I will tracking this mod. Cheering for you.
If the wet shader anim on the character looks like it does in the video, no thanks. The water should only be flowing down, but it's going horizontally and upwards too. Definitely something to do with how the characters are UV'd. It's a cool idea, though!
But the water splashes are great! Can we have a version with only the splashes?
Yeah it's horrible, i can't do much about the Mesh UV. Some meshes seem to work better than others though. You mean the rain splash or the small particles that flow appart from the player?
Is this fallout mods? Is this skyrim? Caught in a landslide, No escape from WHAT THE HECK IS THIS MOD DOING HERE, SERIOUSLY. Even the description is the same as the one in skyrims mods.
Thanks, I will try it! Since you should get wet after swimming, you know :-)
By the way I see it uses Cloak spells, I have heard from my Oldrim days that could cause performance drops, or bloated saves if it isn't cleaned up properly. Is that still true for Fallout4 or this mod? Just curious :-)
I doubt it will cause any performance issues. Also i am not using any scripts mostly just a Spell Cloak that applies the Shader. But to be honest i got no clue if it will cause any issues in the long run.
A Skyout Fallrim Wet Shader. Looks nice, will try it and endorse, if it works. Edit: Imo it is to much. No drops. It looks like a oil surface. Like the idea, but in this state I can´t use it.
Basically i took a super quick look on the F4 CK, the process was 98% similar to the skyrim one, except for the Particles... that part seems to have changed for Fallout4. I need to do some research, then I will try to find a way to make particles available for this version.
I can however make the effect more subtle for the time being in next update.

Great concept, but it looks a little unrealistic. Like thick oil-paint that runs both up and down the player.
But still, its a start :-)
