EDIT: Actually, Settlers of the Commonwealth is on Nexus... please link apropriatly! https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8704?tab=description
Needs off-Site Requirement, wich just gets you random files and no install explanation what so ever. After an odyssey of googling there was stuff about changing inis... no thank you. If you put it on nexus make sure you just use vortex, else make clear this is not for casual users.
An esp is a file that the game reads for mod information. Are you using a mod organizer? I am partial and would strongly suggest learning Mod Organizer 2. It will seem daunting at first but it really is the best one there is.
The offsite is just to get the original Settlers of the Commonwealth mod. It is needed to use this mod which makes it work with Sim Settlements. If you are new, be patient. Learning to mod is a never ending journey. I've been at it for five years and there are still things I'm learning or still don't know how to do. Join a discord server related to modding (nothing in my brain off hand, sorry). Read forums. Watch videos by Gamer Poets. His videos are the BEST for learning all about modding. Seriously, and he's the nicest guy you'll ever watch. I think that is really the best start for you.
Do i need to install ultimatecoffee version if I want to use this? I would love to have other leader with trait beside my companion to lead a city. I cannot put my trust in Strong to do this job.
Ok I'm pretty far in the game and added this but I don't know how to activate it. I read its suppose to just add the names into my assign leaders or am I suppose to go and recruit named settlers to run the settlements?
So I can't recruit any of the settlers, each time I try, after selecting the location, the dialogue camera continues but nothing is said, then I talk to them again, and they ask for work, and I get brought back to where to send them
How do you make this mod work exactly? Can it be more complicated then to visit 2 different websites and download 3 mods in total and still it doesnt work? I mean cmon. At least make a tutorial cause i dont get it to work and scrolling trough the comments dont help either.
This mod is only useful if you've *already* decided to use those mods. They are pretty big mods - you don't download them to make *this* mod work. This is just "gravy" that allows you to get a little more synchronicity out of them. Don't expect this little add-on to explain SimSettlements and SotC.
The mod works by inserting the NPCs from SotC into the available leaders list that pops up when choosing a settlement leader from the desk you build for SimSettlements. That, btw, is where all your complexity comes in. You have to select the blueprint, and then choose the "Assign a Leader" option (or however it's labeled). You will see the SotC NPCs on this list, along with whatever traits they bring to the job.
But if you don't know what this does from reading the tin, you probably need to spend a bit more time looking at SimSettlements.

Until you meet them you cannot assign them.
