i was just thinking about how unrealistic the design of this robot is when it comes to them never needing to refuel for over 300 years in the game, so i thought they more than likely were powered by a microscopic nuclear powered device, but even the flame propelling the robot makes no sense, so instead of a flame holding them up, they had some kind of gravity field that kept them floating instead, and i was searching for a mod that might rectify this idea.
unfortunately, nobody really gives this game much thought into what it could be realistically, like like i totally get it, it's a fictional story and it's all art design at the end of the day, but i just want a more realistic view of these robots in the form of losing the stupid flame esthetic and making them look like they have a sort of gravity field holding them up instead of the flame.
I haven't had this game installed in a couple of years, but if you're looking to alter the flame, I would suggest you look at the Mr. Handy meshes through Nifskope to see what they are using for the texture. You might be able to alter it simply by having it point to a different texture or a transparent texture. It might also have a materials file that needs to be altered as well. --- Best of luck.
I set it to the same values as the acetylene tanks, they use 'ExplosiveTrapGas'. It's easy enough to adjust through Creation Kit to whatever you want. It's listed under MrHandyFuel in the MiscItem section, open it up and click 'Edit Destruction Data' and you can change it to whatever you want, you can set it to the power of a nuke if you wish.
