I've been looking into how to attach the light properly, and it appears that the "proper" beam uses an Add-on Node. As far as I can tell, it requires mesh editing to attach properly, and although I have loaded the mesh file into NifSkope, I am unsure how to properly edit the mesh so as to have this happen.
Do you think it would be possible to add a light to the left shoulder or the character? Even without a mesh on the model? I talking about something like this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39968/?
--I have this issue and I'm not using this mod, just yet. Havent tested the reason really. Might be the mod that allows multi armor layers on any outfit. Not sure what else edited my gear loadout functions.
I did not encounter this issue in my testing, so I would conclude that it is either a bug with another installed mod, or an engine hiccup that occurs when modifying the helmet. That said, the compatibility version for Endormoon's "Craftable Custom Combat Armor", which, according to reports in its comments, also experiences this issue, carries forward its fixes. This is the recommended version, by the way.
Could this work with the Destroyer's Helmet ? (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Destroyer's_helmet) It's not currently working for me, though mining helmet is fine.
The "medical goggles" also have a light attached, but no headlamp activation, like the combat helmet. Could you add a light to the medical goggles too?
Hi, I hope you can help. I am trying to figure out the load order, or mistake I am making when combining your mod with Custom Combat armor by Endormoon, and craftable armor size by johndoebowler. Before updates to some of the mods and my use of NMM, I was able to change the armor size for your helmet, now that is not the case. when I craft your helmet it does give me the other types but I can not edit it on the armor bench like the rest of the combat armor peaces.
I've enountered something wierd, after playing for a few days with this mod installed, no idea when or where it happened. But, in the materials section of my combat helmet mods, it shows 2 of everything. For example, I show one Polymer Combat Helmet mod that has 34 DR and ER, requiring rank 2 of armorer, and another Polymer Combat Helmet Mod, that has 37 DR and ER, requiring Armorer rank 4.

It would be awesome if Combat Helmet Tweaks was made to be compatible.
If it's not working for you, none of the combat helmets are working for you. It's just a normal Combat Helmet re-named and with a legendary effect.
You've done something wrong.
EDIT: Using only the Lamp Only mod makes it work. shrug.
