    Hey everybody, I would like some help from you guys.

    I want to add likes and dislikes for him, and create a companion perk for him at max affinity. But I can't think of what to do for those, so if anyone has any suggestions please respond to this with them!

    For example: Likes/Dislikes lockpicking, hacking, etc.

    Update 0.2:
    - Fixed the bug with him only saying "Yes, of course". It was caused by the way I chose to do dialogue for that line.
    - Had to convert from .ba2 to loose files because my game wasn't using the voice lines with it packed. if anyone knows how to fix it, please provide some tips.
    I will start doing more with it soon. I was burnt out with Fallout but I'm good now.
    Might need to uninstall old version then reinstall new version from the switch

    Potential bug, i dismissed zao to sanctuary hills to take another follower with me for awhile and when i came back to try and get him again i discovered he had disappeared, i thought maybe he returned to the yangtze for some reason but the yangtze itself also disappeared.  So upon dismissing Zao as a follower, he disappears if you leave him for awhile and come back later trying to find him again and the yangtze is removed from the game.

    I played this on the xbox version, assuming the issue isn't exclusive to the port.

      It happens on PC, too, but he doesn't just disappear after a while, the instant you dismiss him, he starts walking toward the Yangtze.  If you don't catch him before he gets there, he takes off with the sub.  Basically, dismissing him causes him to end the quest like would normally happen.

      I've seen that Zao returns to the Yangtze but stays assigned to the settlement he was dismissed to, and the crops he was assigned to, stay assigned. Some type of mystic ghost farming technique.

      Must be another mod making Yangtze disappear, in vanilla it stays put after the quest regardless of what Zao says about leaving. Easy enough to get rid of sub, disable a few objects and you're good to go. Probably take some load off the cell too, would help if using one of the piers for a settlement or something.

      I had Zao tending a small farm using the Donny's Pier settlement mod, seemed appropriate.

      I think I'll recruit him again, disable the sub and the hatch, and see if he just swims around out there. If he does I'll give him a marine wetsuit and a harpoon gun, and put some fish traps nearby using Farming Resources.

    In terms of the soldier’s personality. I shouldn't like drinking and drug exposure. He should like cautious speech.Don't like to threaten or ask for money, because he is a communist.

    This mod has a lot of potential. After testing it, it seems to be 90% functional. Basic/Essential options are here (talk, command, trade equipment). The Dismiss option seems to be buggy, though, since I tried to have Zao stay in Sanctuary, but he looked like he was rather going to leave the settlement and return (presumably?) to his submarine. Not a huge issue, actually, but I thought i'd mention it. Still, endorsed !

    What would be really interesting but really hard to pull off?

    Making a whole story line where he leaves and comes back with people from the wasteland provinces of post-apocalyptic China bringing with him traders, diplomats, scholars, adventurous souls and all manner of goodies!

    That would be awesome.

    This idea is neat! But will this mod get updated with more information for Captain Zao? like his perks, him commenting while walking or his likes and dislikes.

      You can technically do this in vanilla with the Robotics Expert perk
