About this mod

A blank .dds file to stop the coloured screen at the end of videos

Requirements
Permissions and credits
NO LONGER NEEDED - THIS HAS BEEN FIXED IN v2.6 OF VOTW, BUT HAS BEEN LEFT DUE TO REQUESTS

So now you're giving us, er, nothing?

Razorwire's workshop channel on YouTube is excellent (respect to the guy), and to blame for all the videos I do.  There is one problem, however.  In the video dealing with Nifskope and the nifs  he says to set the textures for unused grids to "Blank.dds" (watch the video to see what I'm on about and skip forward to 8 minutes).  The problem is the files for VotW don't actually contain a Blank.dds so you can get the coloured screen flashing up briefly right at the end.  It's not a big deal, but it wasn't meant to happen.

This addresses it, and it's just a small texture file that's completely black, called "Blank.dds".  There's no ESP or anything else apart from that, so it won't eat up any mod slots.

How do I use it?

It depends which category you fall into...

Users...
All you need to do is install it with your favourite mod manager or download it manually and drag the folder in the archive into the Fallout 4 base directory and let Windows merge the directories.  You won't have this problem anymore for anyone who's followed Razorwire's instructions to the letter to make videos (like mine).

Creators...
If you want to include it in your mods then knock yourself out.  You can either put it with your grids (just remember to reference it in the NIFs, and the fact you'll be adding an extra 8MB file to your videos) or you can just link to this file/upload it to your own files page as an optional extra.  I know it compresses down to 1.52KB (it's just dead space), but it decompresses to 8MB, so bear that in mind.

Invisible collector gnomes...
It makes an excellent holiday gift for loved ones.

Any known issues?

Invisible Collector Gnomes: In the right circumstances it's theoretically possible for it to create a black hole that will swallow the universe, if you try and do your space time trick on it, so you have been warned.

Everyone else:  Probably not.

And permissions?

You can do what you want with it (almost).  If you can find some really obscure uses for it then knock yourself out (and let me know).  It would be nice to get a credit, but not essential although it would be really nice if you upload it to your own files page.  The only thing I do draw the line at is it being uploaded to anywhere else except Nexus, and definitely not Bethesda (because reasons).

If you're an invisible collector gnome and you manage to destroy the universe I'll be royally pissed off.  Can you at least wait until series 4 of Lucifer has been aired, please?

Don't you think this explanation was unnecessarily long?

Not as long as it's taking to get a decent deal on Brexit (I'm a remainer).  Why on Earth the Maybot doesn't just bow to what people want and hold a second referendum is beyond me, but that's politics for you.

Is that it?

Actually no.  The thing is, with Brexit... <Snip! Yeah it was too long.>
