If you weren't getting blackface before, then you need to check what resolution all your face textures are. It's probably not this since it's just a tint mask replacer. More likely you have mismatched diffuse, normal and specular maps. After that, use the file here with the matching resolution. Or your video card just doesn't have enough memory. Those are the two most common causes.
I'm running looks menu but this file isn't working for me. It doesn't show up on the character when selecting the lower eyeliner 2 and the entire body of my character disappears while editing once I select the eyeliner...it comes back once I exit but then the character has the blackface bug...any ideas what might be wrong?
Start with the normal res texture. The character disappearing and reappearing thing is normal game crap tho, as well as the blackface. So try the normal res texture
If you are running Looksmenu, the presets are saved to \Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets\ as .json files.
Provided users are loading the same related character creation mods the .json file is all you need to upload to share it. If some of the mods used to create the preset are missing results may vary but will not look the same.
So, in order to create a shareable preset, simply pack the .json in a 7z file with the above filepath; ie create a folder called Data, inside that folder create another called Plugins, etc etc, with the .json file in the Presets folder at the bottom of the file stack. Then pack the Data folder and it's contents into a 7z file and upload.
Also helps to include what character creation related mods you are using in the description in case people run into issues. If you are using things like Extended Facial Sculpting the preset will NOT load correctly if that mod is not also loaded.
Yeah, it looks like there are instructions for making .json presets with Faceripper on the Faceripper mod page. In fact, it looks like saving / loading Looksmenu presets has been incorporated into the latest versions of Faceripper https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3878/
Alternatively, you could create a backup of a save, install Looksmenu, create the preset, uninstall Looksmenu, and carry on as usual from there. It *SHOULD* work.

It's so obvious! I didn't even think of that... duh lol Thanks, I'll see what I can do. I've been asked before for female faces, so I might just do a whole set or something.
like mske it accessable an an overlay in looks menu https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30707 Like this mod.
You said this was a replacer for the lower eyeliner. Is there a way to turn it into a warpaint that I can wear under makeup? so that way I don't have to replace my lower eyeliner?
Ok I see. Let me try to explain- First, no, I can't make it like that mod you linked because there are two types of files; one that goes on the face/body and another that reveals. This is a tintmask that reveals. What you can do though, is rename the file to one of the face paints that you would be ok with overwriting. The face paints are in the same folder, labled facepaint1.dds through facepaint20.dds HERE is an image that can help you see which face paints are which.
If you unzip the package and then rename the file from Eyeliner06_d.dds to one of the face paint names, then re-zip it and drop it on the mod manager, that would work.
Or you could just navigate to your Fallout 4 install >>> C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Falllout 4/data/textures/actors/character/character assets/tintmasks/Eyeliner06_d.dds and then change the name of the file there.

If you like it, hit that >Endorse< button to help others find it.
This would be great for a few Harley Quinn presets as well!

so would the file need to be rezipped after i named the file? i actually think that I could do that.
