I have a couple of big mods I'm trying to finish in 2023 and I will post screenshots and more information about those mods when they are closer to release, join my Discord server for more information and to be notified when I release new mods. Simply Better Weather v10.2 & v11.2 have been released for preview.
Most of my mods received a minor update 16/12/2022, the main reason for this update to was to allow you to install multiple versions / options of the mods at the same time so that you can switch between the versions whenever you like. Some files had to be renamed in order to accomplish this but this will not effect your save games. All of my mods can be installed/uninstalled or swapped out at any time without harming your save games. All files are ESL flagged .esp's (except Puddle Remover Plus), these files can edited and sorted by load order but do not use an ESP plugin slot. I am no longer creating ESP or Loose files versions of my mods because there is no performance or compatibility improvements to be gained by using them. FYI: Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition can have up to 253 ESP (Full) and 4096 ESL (Light) plugins installed at the same time.
If you want to say "Thanks" for this mod press the "Endorse" button at the top of the page, it's appreciated.

Tips & Common Sense:
Before you install any mod or make any changes to your game, you should back up your save games and/or relevant files. I recommend zipping up your My Games\Fallout4 folder and labeling and dating that zip file as part of your backups. Then thoroughly test the mod / changes before you add any other mods or advance the game.C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\My Games\Fallout4This creates a backup of your "Saves" folder, your Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Pref.ini and your Fallout4Custom.ini if you have one.
Use FO4Edit to easily view the changes made by a mods ESP/ESL/ESM, check for compatibility, resolve conflicts, est.
If this mod does not fit your play-style or if you simply don't like it, don't use it, no one is asking you to.

Some specifics would be appreciated--I would like to remove all birds except Synth Crows because... you know... the Institute does not take kindly to our messing with their creations.
1. In fomod, I checked remove Crows and Seagulls (not Synth Crows). I then left all locations unchecked because I assumed that would allow our synth friends to have places to roost. Correct? Or would checking all of the locations still allow the synth crows access because I did not check under Birds for removal?
2. I would like all ambient sounds removed, but when I choose "All Sounds" (ESL) the file says Nuka Only. How do I get all F4, FarHarbor, and Nuka ambients shut down?
3. And finally, after running the installer, the ESL is unchecked in the plugins list: is that correct or should I manually enable it?
1. Only select the birds you want removed. Only select the locations you do not want them to have access to. 2. Only choose 1 option. 3. Yes you need to enable the plugin.
Your Welcome. And FYI as far as the Synth birds go, I don't know how often they spawn or if they always spawn in the same locations. I personally didn't even know they existed until I found them in the CK, the only visible difference between the Synth birds and normal birds I could see was that Synth birds have red glowing eyes.
I tried installing this, but the file structure is is really messed up. The .esp dose not install. Actually I have no idea where it the FoMod put's it. I tried the AIO version. The only file I could find is the meshes for the AIO. Nothing else get put in the data folder. I am using NMM, as I will never use Vortex for this game. A side note, will this work as an .ESL? I am way past the mod limit.
Bill8872, I'm giving you a Kudo's for bringing the v1.5 installer error to my attention. The problem was only with the "Remove All" option and it was caused by a typo in the ModuleConfig.xml, this problem has now been corrected.
I believe this mod is small enough to be used as an .ESL but I don't know for sure. I'll look into that next week and if the .esp's can be converted to .ESL then I will release a separate installer with .ESL files. Until then the esp data could easily be merged into another esp since it only contains SoundDescriptors.
I wouldn't have published them if they didn't work! But yes, I used xEdit 3.2.84 to compress and flag my mods. These files do not contain any ONAM Records so all I had to do is set the ESL flag.
It may sound silly but for some people just like me, this mod (or similar 'remove bird' mods) really solves fps or stuttering problem in exterior scene.
I was suffered by weird fps drop issue near north Boston, tried every known methods to solve but well, I was no luck. So I checked my save file via Farllim tool and found out there are more than 2,000 scripts are running, most of them are related to these birds - bird barking, flying and landing. Therefore I installed other earlier version of removing bird mod, you guess, all fps drop issues were totally magically gone.
I highly recommend this mod to people who experiencing similar as me. People in forum already recognized this issue and blame UFO4P which trigger weird bird scripts but we know we need it. So removing birds instead is the only way to solve it.
Good idea. More often than not, the birds perform all kinds of glitchy feats like hovering like hummingbirds, getting stuck flapping their wings after they landed, etc. - for those reasons alone, getting rid of the birds will help with immersion.
Nice! Using mods that remove/move trees and so on has left me with birds "parked" in mid air, so if this helps my immersion by letting me hide those, that will be fantastic. Many thanks for sharing your work.
This is basically the same reason I made this mod, I'm working on a large mod in which I have to remove some of the power lines, which left birds landing in air.
