So I like the look of this but when I try to use it, it winds up with the wierd tan face bug, now I got another preset for Nate that I tried and it didn't happen with him so I have no idea what's going on.
NOICE! Much stronger jawline, waaay better mouth. I didn't mind vanilla Nate, I guess, but he looks really battle-weary and tired. That makes sense, but it's a little hard to go kick ass with him later! The first three concept art shots, I think he's quite handsome and chiseled! If he'd looked like yours does on my first play-through right out of the box, I might not have spent, like, two frikkin' hours in the Looks Menu, and countless since tweaking my PC! LOL
Thanks! I think the image might give the illusion that the jaw has been moved but I believe Nate was tilting his head a bit when I snapped the picture. All I really did with his lower face was: shorten his face a bit, widen the jaw, raise the lips, change the mouth type and size, and some other minor adjustments to his jowls, cheeks, and chin. The default Nate face is already sort of asymmetrical with an off-kilter jaw and bent nose. The rest of his default features were kind of rounded and pudgy looking. The pictures don't do the preset complete justice though. It really shows better in dialogue and 3rd person images. The character creator isn't perfect for taking screenshots that accurately reflect in-game results, that's why I included a dialogue screenshot.
Hmmm, I’m sorry to hear that it isn’t working right. Please make sure you are using Fallout 4 Script Extender and Looksmenu.
If you already have these installed, Some quick google searches suggest that this issue could mean your Fallout 4 Script Extender version might be a bit outdated. That or looksmenu might be outdated.
eyi, eyi, eyi. I tried emailing both the looks author, and changing ,re isntalling, even going back to an older fallout 4. Still no dice, and its ridiculous.
Okay, I found this quote on the Looksmenu Nexus page: “If you see a grayed out Preset option, this is due to the plugin not loading, typically meaning incompatible game version.”
Make sure your Fallout4.exe game version is the correct one for your F4SE and Looksmenu version. Whenever Fallout 4 updates with new Creation Club content every couple months the Fallout4.exe executable version in your game folder changes and you have to roll it back to an older version to make your mods continue to work correctly. This is a common problem that Modder’s have to deal with and is simple to fix once you know which game version you need. You can find every .exe version online with a Google search. Then you just save a copy of that .exe somewhere on your computer and paste it into your Fallout 4 game folder whenever the game updates. (Or better yet, disable the game from updating if using Steam.)
The original nate preset actually looks more like a lawyer than a soldier, I could never believably see him in that role, this one looks like the quintessential World War 2 grunt, so I definitely think you captured the kind of featured you'd expect from a vet in a 1950's eque setting.
Agreed! His default face looks off to me while Nora looks pretty good still. I wanted to emulate his concept art look as much as I could and the result definitely has a more ‘50s WW2 veteran feel. He looks even better during gameplay and dialogue I think.

But I do love the looks Nate has in concept art 3, looks badass and then you see bathesdas starting preset and he looks weak :P
