Version 1.2 is now here! This update fixes a few more issues and bring some new features as well. Here are all the work items that were fixed and completed with this version (see the changelog section for more details)
One bug that has been haunting me for over a year was when the weapon would be dropped it would become transparent. Thanks to ehtyeci I was able to find the root cause of this and now when the weapon is dropped or put on a weapon rack it should look as expected. While this isn't a huge bug its a personal bug I always wanted to fix and glad I was.
For anyone who was getting motion sickness from the FOV zoom effect does not need to worry anymore. In 1.2 the animations for 1st person have been completely overhauled and the FOV Zoom effect is now gone for all the movement animations.
The last thing I want to call out is a new feature I've added to the weapon. A new Assault Top Rail attachment is included with the weapon, for those who like Halo it may look pretty familiar to you. Brandon007 had shown me a cool model concept of how it looked and after consideration (despite the extra work it took to put in) I agreed and its now part of the weapon. You can find it with all the other Top Rail weapon attachments in the workbench. If you want to see what it looks like right now I've added several screenshots too.
v1.2 of the BR77 for now is my final update. I've fixed everything I possibly can or want to at this point. If there is a bug you have logged in the bugs section I will have replied to why it was not fixed or if it was not a bug I could fix. The next content that will be coming are finally the custom camo packs that you will be able to download and choose different camos to have for the custom slots.
Update: So far the mod overall has been solid. I have noticed an increased amount having issues with the FOV zoom feature in 1st person though. Originally I was going to just make a quick optional file download for those who wanted it. However, after further consideration I am going to make it an official update for the mod in v1.2. I am just about 1/3 through reverting the zoom effect from most of the animation files. It will take me a few more days to complete but once the work is complete this should completely resolve the FOV zoom issue many were having (and the wall clipping).
v1.2 will also include a few other minor fixes too so stay tuned for the next update.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: Version 1.1 now has been released. This update fixes a few minor issues:
Version 1.0 of the Battle Rifle 77 mod has been released! Before you download please make sure to read the mod page description as this will give you all the details. The Known issues and FAQ section will answer most of the questions you most likely have. The forum section also has threads containing additional information as well.
I would like to give a quick shoutout to NovaFinch and schrivener07 for the awesome ammo counter framework they built too. Was very cool of them to share and allow me to use it for my weapon mod. I definitely plan to use the ammo counter for my future weapons in different ways when possible.
Well, I didn't think I would like this mod very much. I was quite wrong. This is the first weapon mod I've used that doesn't have a broken 3 round burst. And the weapon models and modifications are very nice! The rifle's burst also has a good sound, unlike some of the quieter weapon mods on here. And working foregrips! In short, this is now my go-to weapon. I hope to see more weapons with this level of quality. Keep it up!
Glad you like it and how it sounds. Always hard for me to judge if people like the sounds since I usually get feedback from those who do not like it. I tried to make the gun sounds as convincing for a fictional weapon as possible.
That gun sfx sounds a lot like Robocop's Auto 9 sfx from the movie Robocop and sound with a mix of the original BR55 and the RC Auto 9 mixed into a gun shot.
Am I the only one who actually recognizes the BR77 gun shots sounds similar to the Robocop Auto 9 sfx and felt the BR55 and the Auto 9 sfx are a mix into BR77? I'm surprised nobody's talking about that.
Slight suggestion: Could you possibly add alternate reticles? The basic one for the BR55/75 or "Acog" scope is honestly horrible. Rest of teh mod is great, love it, but that reticle is actual garbage. Could you add an alternative, or lower the size, so that it's more precise? - A very interested Halo fan
I don't know whether I'm such pants at aiming, or the accuracy of the rifle I found is so bad, but while I can headshot while hipfiring, when looking through a scope I miss like 90% time... Maybe it's a see-through scopes issue and it's slightly misaligned.. Oh well, if I can't snipe with it, I can still use it as a mid range automatic rifle.
Is there a way to use my modlists default sounds with the gun instead of the custom ones?
Thanks for this mod, I love the leveling system it as, especially since I'm the type of player who likes to use one gun throughout most games that have weapons. Endorsed!
This weapon is my absolute favorite. And since to get upgrades you have to use it constantly, I use it almost constantly. I am really grateful. I have no idea how long I've used this weapon but probably more than half the time I've played Fallout 4. I created a patch that I believe solves the counter issues. Of course, you are welcome to modify it and/or incorporate it into the mod. It requires a F4se plugin. I tried not to stray from the original code even though there are now parts of original code that they are not necessaries. Thanks again.
