About this mod
Personal radio with songs of your choice. With random feature.
- Permissions and credits
Randomization function added. 30 songs will now play randomly.
Note: for testing purposes I replaced empty tracks with TTS numbers from 1 to 30. If you for instance hear it, you may have not replaced some of the tracks with own music. Heck do not replace any and you will have a own numbers station or navigational radio beacon.
I hope all works well, if there is a track that may not play at all, then feel free to complain and I will fix that as I followed a tutorial that was bit confusing but understandable.
If dont like random option then choose the second file in section.
This is re-upload of the mod made by StrabJink some time ago. For some reason he removed, even if I helped him to make the station work. I did this because I think having two or three custom radio stations with your own music like PipPOD is good. You can add extra 30 own tracks to 50 tracks in other mod and have two custom radio stations. That is what I like personally.
To install the mod:
1. Download and enable via Nexus Mods manager.
2. Go to your Fallout4 directory - Data/Sound/fx/MUS/Personal_Radio
3. Use some free audio editor like Audacity and replace every file named PR_Track_0001-30 with wav 16 bit rate 1411 kps
4. Play in your pipboy as Personal Radio.
Issues
If the station works and after some time stops, you may have installed a new mod or removed mod. Because of that the load order changes and the station will stop. To get it back in the nexus mod manager disable the Personal_Radio.esp and load game and ignore the game warning. Save and Quit and go back and re-enable in mod manager. Go back and it should work again.
This happens with a lot of custom radio mods and I don't know how to avoid that. If you install and remove mods on regular basis you will encounter this. Or can happen if you arrange the order with LOOT editor.
If there is no randomization at all it could be the script file is missing in the Script folder, as well as in Scripts/Scenes since its included in the install package it should be there, or there is another issue why the script is not working. The script should be simple enough not to make crashes, but if you see some evidence of it crashing the game in logs then show.
Random songs may play twice, it seems because of how the script handles the randomization.
Better replace files using an editor like Audacity that is easy to use rather manually rename files then renaming, and adding the chance of making file name mistake. Plus you can replace the songs many times.
If not sure if it will work just replace first track and load game. I hear your song then add more.
It's very easy to convert this mod type to ESL using this guide https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35922 that may help it from turning off, but I am still testing that part
The station use 87 frequency. Any other radio that uses this will overlap it like for instance one of the stations from Northern Springs.
If this happens.
Go to Creation Kit.
Load Personal_Radio.esm
Set as the active file.
Open Cell View
Select Commonwealth
Open "SanctuaryExt02"
In Object view find "00_PR_PersonalRadioTransmitterRef"
In Radio Data change frequency to something else between 88-135
Close and Save!
Its, however, it's fine with popular 2029 Radio and Personal Radio with 100 songs random, so you can have three custom radios with random option.
Recommended using Reneer's Radio Mod to find what frequencies stations in your game use. You can also use it to play this station in various radios in the game world.
