Remands me of the add’s on the back of the DC&Marvel comics I used to read when I was a kid.partially like the Charles Atlas Body building course spoof advert.
Accidental doublepost, obviously. I will say this now in 2021, this is still crucial realm for folks throughout the Commonwealth. Thank you so much, emmingerl!
This is so very enjoyable, thank you! If I could request one possible change, can the advertising be removed from the Wasteland Survival Guide and Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor magazines? Seeing professional advertising on them seems to be in stark contrast to their self-published and hand-written look.
I did the Sea Monkeys when I was a kid and the box of 100 army men. (which reminds me of 2 more adds to look for...)
As for Fo4 ads, there are quite a few already in there! The system randomly selects from 34 files so, you may see other stuff. When I have time, I have a few old car ads I am currently converting to Corvega so, may be more in future!
I have to say yes, several of them. There was one you ordered, a black pill looking thing, that when lit, grew into these long black worms, In reality, some kind of carbon rope that stunk and broke when you touched them. There was a small submarine about 4 or 5 inches long. You removed the conning tower which let you pack baking soda into a cavity with small holes in the bottom, This was then placed into a sink with water, and I think a small amount of vinegar. It sank to the bottom and gas would form, raising it back to the surface, over and over. Good for keeping a 5 year old busy for a while. And then, the Dick Tracy decoder ring, for sending secret messages to your friend. Most of these were about a dime, but sometimes required cereal box tops too. I believe you can still find the sub online. All in all, a nice trip down memory lane, for some of us older types.
About the time people came up with harebrained notions like selling live pets through mail-order (Let's just cut to the chase... most were DOA) the ads became less popular to the point that comics companies bit the bullet, raised prices, and went without.
Hello talented modder, I'd love a mod that adds the magazine editions from the creation club shop but wouldn't know where to begin myself. Creating the item, making sure it can be stored in magazine racks, resizing and cleaning up the textures... basically I'm clueless. While I'm at it I'd like to store Nuka cola recipes, park maps, case files, folders and the special book in magazine stands too, bit again clueless.

You know what? I always wonder ... even to this day ... if anyone has ever bought this stuff from the comic book ads?

I believe there is a magazine rack included in the Easy Homebuilder mod by Hosza here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17521?tab=files
