to be clear its not a new version of this mod - its a totally new mod. I made every script nothing Marky rocks made exists in my mod - I just used his system of calling a quest stage to install a bot part. For frame of refrence this mod has about 58 scripts my mod has near 200, and includes custom meshes, textures etc.
So... is there any significant difference between the two? I see the new one requires having all the items in the inventory, which is a bit of a major micromanaging problem... but if it has significant advantages over this one it may be worth it.
P.S.: Ah, nevermind. I've gone for the new one. Seems to work to a charm. Using the portable workbench mod to scrap all the junk definitely helps a lot.
you can build litterally any workbench by the automatron workbench and then jsut take all the scrap you need build a bot and put it back. The mod I made took me 4 months working 14 hour days. It fully re-created the Automatron for VR so to answer your question there is a big difference between the two mods. This mod did not have working Handy bots, armor, things didnt cost anything to build, defects with assigning bot parts, no image to know what you were building, the names of the bot parts were both wrong and used a backend system name not the real name. My mod created the full workbench and resolves all of that. big difference like I said.
I equipped the M-Sat on Ada, but when I command her to open the first door in the Mechanist's Lair, she acts like she's doing it, but nothing happens. Need help here.... stuck otherwise. :(
Ok, so I figured it out, for those that may have the same issue... I had altered Ada's appearance along with giving her the M-Sat, and for some reason, as stated above, she wasn't scanning the door ports to open them.
So, I reverted back to a save just before giving Jezebel her body, and did NOT alter Ada in the slightest bit, except to give her the M-Sat, and BAM! Worked as intended.
I couldn't get my bots to register the MSAT, so I had to toggle collisions off to move through the locked doors (TCL in console); which still allowed me to finish the main quest for Automatron (confront the Mechanist). So I just wanted to report if ppl can't get the MSAT module to register, then you can TCL through the locked doors and proceed through until you get to the Mechanist.
Two options: 1. The DOCS tab here in NexusMods (to the left of this POSTS tab) contains the same text, just nicely formatted.
2. Once downloaded/installed to Vortex, the mod's readme.txt is formatted and readable - it is the same content as in the the description, just in structured sentences :) You can access it using the "Open in File Manager" option of the Vortex dropdown menu on far right of "Automatron VR FIX",
First thank you for your time and making this mod. Couple of things I have ran into, adding quest items to ADA. Sometimes it doesn't work and I cant move forward. I even made sure I was able to edit ADA before I tried to add the M-SAT it doesn't work. it pauses like its doing something then it doesn't work.
Second question, is there a way to manage other robot mods with your workbench? I tried a few and they don't seem to show up on your workbench as being available.
I just wanted to chime in and say thanks for the mod also. I had an issue where I couldnt find the activator until I restarted and reloaded my savegame, but other than that its a pretty decent workaround for enabling robot companions!
My biggest issue so far has been locating the specific pieces of armor for my sentry bot new-build. Ive managed to find all the "satchel only - vanilla armor" for each of the three legs, but I think alot of the entries are mis-labeled? Either that or its not actually applying my selections sometimes.
I found this resource by the way, for anyone who is altering the cosmetics of their bot. If this mod's in game menu doesnt have, or you cant find what you need you can use console commands and this table to edit in whats needed https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4vr/comments/8tcr6r/guide_creating_and_modding_robots_in_automatron/
But honestly, considering I read that you learned a new coding language for this mod, well done! My previous method was to use a mirror-modded Fallout 4 (non VR) installation to swap my save files into and out of...

Edit: I've tried connecting a power cable to it, but it always shows up as red so I can't place it.
Thank you! this worked.
Thanks
I played the robot dlc once before on flat screen and I loved it, my favourite dlc content for any video game.
Although i can't complain too loudly that he got this to work in the first place, it does seem to cheapen the experience a bit :/
Oh well, thanks for your hard work!

Reminds me of Bender Rodriguez.
