Hi,I have a problem - the settlers do not settle, do not move to it, I can not send a satellite here and I can not do  appoint a caravan driver, too, in general, I completely delete it.

These are same problems you have with my Atom Cat's settlement MOD, and I queried you for some more information there. Lets try fix that as I am confident that helps fix things in using this MOD also.

In this MOD in the settlement, I didn't do anything that could hurt. I didn't touch the workshop and didn't move it anywhere, I didn't do anything at all, I just came, activated the workshop and tried to immediately settle the person, I couldn't, I couldn't send my companion here either. This settlement is not on the list.

Did you try going back to save just before activating the Workbench?

I deleted this mod, now I'm building a settlement of atom cats, after that I want to put this mod back and try to work with it again, if I can't do anything again, I'll have to delete it completely and forget about this settlement. I will be very sorry.

I put this mod again, and again the same problem, this settlement is not in the list, it is displayed on the map, but it is not in the list, the workshop was activated normally, but nothing else. In general, I resigned myself to the fact that I will not have it. You see, when there are no problems, everything is smooth at once. For example, with Arcjet Exterior Settlement. I built it up normally literally in 1 evening, and here I do not know what the problem is. I just don't understand it at all, I tried everything I could.
I will not delete this mod from my folder, maybe it will start working if I start a new game, this game is all over and I just put the mods on the building. I do not know, maybe some special conditions are needed for this settlement to work.

This MOD has had some little problems with settlers too far from Workbench but otherwise it's been relatively fine. Hmm, what could this be?

      You are welcome!

Nakano Residence doesn't ring any bells for me, so I assume it's on some DLC? I don't have any of the DLC's...

Nakano Residence is where you go to jump off for Far Harbor. If you do not have that DLC then the residence probably is not there, or is very different.

Since I got Far Harbor, I have been watching Nakano place as potential settlement. Bit late now but I think I do it soon.

Also as I got Far Harbor DLC, I have decided to make settlement or two at Far Harbor. One is already done and will be published Tomorrow. Naturally I made little mistake building this player settlement so my first Far Harbor settlement gets settlers with beacon only from Commonwealth. My bad, next settlement will have proper Far Harbor Workbench!  :)

    Hi,
First off I want to say thank you for this mod as I've always though this site is a really great one for a personal home/estate.

I installed it through Vortex and linked a provisioner from Sunshine Tidings to here and started building a home. Everything worked fine at first, but suddenly my supply line stopped sharing resources.

I checked the provisioner, and she is alive and moving between settlements with no hostile interruptions. The supply line still shows on the map as well. I checked her to see if I could reassign her, but Lanes End does not show up on the list of settlements I can assign a supply route or send settlers to anymore. So nothing can be transferred/shared from outside.

I tried creating a supply link from inside but that didn't work either. When I built a robot work bench and built a robot, they didn't show up in the settlement population count. And while I could assign them to a supply route with another settlement, that route doesn't work or even show up on the map. I also can't assign them to a SIM Settlement Logistics Station. I think the robot isn't even coming back to the settlement.

I tried with human settlers first by building the recruitment beacon and powering it, but noone came. I then spawned in a settler with console commands, but she demonstrated the same issues as the robots. She did not show up on the population count, when I assigned her as a provisioner, the supply lune did not show up on the map or function and I don't think she'll come back. She also won't assign to the Logistics Station plot I tried to assign the robot to.

So at this point the supply line I had going to Lanes End does not function even though it is supposedly still there, I can't assign new supply lines to Lanes End, and I cannot get human or robot settlers I try to create there to register as part of Lanes End so I can create a supply line out.

I've been over reddit and steam forums and tried some solutions to problems with supply lines but haven't seen any solution that works when I tried it. I'm guessing the settlement itself stopped registering in the system, but if that is the case I don't know why it did or how to prevent it.

I've validated the files through steam, don't have mods that affect that location, and loading an earlier save won't help unless I can prevent it from happening again. And I really don't want to just start another save after putting around 190 hours into this one.

The last thing I can think of doing is going through the saves with Fallrim and trying to clean out anything like unattached instances to see if that would help, but if that doesn't work I'll just have to repeatedly haul junk and other scrap over there manually as needed. It may work to some degree, but the site won't have anywhere near ideal functionality without settler/supply capability.

For all I know this situation may very well not be a bug with your mod itself, and I hate to be a bother; but since this is an issue that for me relates to this specific mod and no other forum had any solutions, I figured this was the best place to go for help at this point. Do you have any suggestio or advice or somewhere that has a solution to this specific kind of problem? Thanks in advance for any input.

GAHH, wrote a long answer and it poofed just before I was to send it, well, here goes again:

I do not think the problem lies in my MOD, it is possible, but not likely, especially as it first worked well for you. Advice I can try to give you might not be a revelation of a fix, but I have learned some things you can try. First of them is that like you said you could return to earlier working Save, but that would not guarantee that this wouldn't happen again, so it would be best to find the culprit for these issues. Thus you need to check out what has changed in your game since the last working Save? New MOD, Fallout 4 Update, or maybe new DLC, and then try to test which of them, (if any,) caused these issues. Time consuming thing, but actually likely to help.

Then there is the other option for solution, bobblunderton's messages and analyzes on similar issues on my, and other also, MOD's. He has done great testing and found brilliant answers as to why these things happen. I highly recommend you to check out his messages in many of my MOD's!

This is all I can think of now, I hope it helps.

Thanks for the reply! I haven't installed/removed any mods since I first approached Lanes End. I was actually in build mode building when I suddenly saw my resource numbers drop to almost nothing, and I think that was the moment the game worked. Luckily I try to always save in a new slot and periodically clean them out as a precaution.

Thanks for pointing me to bobblunderton's posts. I looked through your mods and found some posts under your Fiddlers Green and Salem mods that I think may help explain the issue. I have this mod loading after Scrap Everything, but I'm guessing it can still cause issues with the settlement naming due to the Commonwealth tag Scrap Everything seems probe to applying. It's too bad since I do enough cleaning up of settlements that abandoning it in favor of an alternative like Spring Cleaning (which might be too big of a alterative mid-game for the game or script engine to handle) may have to wait to the next play through.

Also it may be possible on the off chance that something messed up with the workshopparentscript. I've had issues with it spamming in previous playthroughs, but I've got the active scripts under control pretty much for this one with the current mod loadout. It still could be the culprit in this particular instance, but bobblunderton's solution for the workshop script, installing the Unofficial Patch, won't work for my particular system/mod list. I've tried using it in previous playthroughs, but experienced stability issues with, hence my current focus on other mods and methods to control the workshop parent script.

I'm guessing one or both of those things overlapping may have caused the issue, and I think that if that is the case then the issue may not be as likely to reoccur as I was originally afraid and if I am more vigilant about loading an earlier save as soon after it may happen again as possible, I can hopefully sidestep it. This is such a sweet location that I really want to not have to abandon it, and after taking a step back mentally I can get into the groove of recreating what I had built since the last good save.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and give advice and pointing me in the right direction! And thanks for the mod, it is a really great location!??

    Hi everyone,

    Love this Mod.

I can build way outside the settlement build area (as per photo), not a problem.  I also noticed that the settlers don’t use beds and sleep.  They just bunch together outside and stand there all night.  I’ve tried assigning them to beds, but that doesn’t seem to work.

    Is there a workaround?

      Thanks for the reply.

I don’t think it has anything to do with your excellent mod. For some reason this is now happening at other settlements. It didn’t before. I think it’s a Fallout 4 thing.

      Cheers

I also use the Piers Of Salem mod and I could never get the settlers to use the crops that are planted in the first section of that mod, by the beach area. They will work as normal for the far end of the pier but they will never go near that beginning area, by the beach and diner.

Perhaps the issue that prevented the settlers from using the crops in this mod, that you were able to fix, can also be fixed in that mod too. That mod is a nice settlement mod too but the settlers just will not go near that beach area.

the problem with the vanilla borders for what i know, is most don't fit any custom settlement, not sure if you can adjust and or make new 1's in 3dmax(maybe fo4edit)
the most simple solution(for @ragoda) can be, place markers that give you a idea where the border stop, like pieces of fences(scrap able)
but he what do i know about making settlements, i'm just a n00b that  trow in a idea

Hmm, not bad idea, I could try that marker idea, although I think that can be a hazzle also if the area is not a simple rectangle.

The Survival file with the added cooking station seems to work perfectly. Plants that are planted and assigned on the outskirts will now register like normal food. The settler did not seem to want to go sandbox by the very outer ones but she did for all the others.

The added station is a welcome addition and will make this more viable for Survival players. Thanks for posting this and good luck.

It works with both the Sanctuary Everglades https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30291 and Wicked Shipping https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10859 settlement mods without any problems. This settlement is in the perfect position to link the settlements together. I'll post a screenshot of the supply lines.
