Would it be possible to have the magazine be set when using just the carbine receiver? It could always be the same size clip, maybe 20 rounds. You could probably still have an alternate quick reload magazine since that is only a speed setting (I think). So when using the .308 receiver you can switch between using different magazines, but when using the carbine receiver you can ONLY use the smaller magazine.
Anyway, just a possibility, possibly.

Oh yeah, having two separate weapons is a piece of cake, just install satojo's mod here and something like this (that's 5.56, but close). Changing the ammo a weapon uses is probably one of the easiest things to mod. However, I do believe satojo has some plans to integrate changing magazines alongside ammo swaps in his armory mod, so keep an eye on that.

Was thinking about this mod, some people mentioned adding parts to the combat rifle to make it more like the BAR, but with this receiver it might actually work better to push it more towards the PPSH in design. It would also be cool to see the combat shotgun go that direction, or really anything else you might do to it.
Very nice mod. It always bothered me that the mag was the same size as the .308 version(where it is plausible). One little thing that bothers me. The gun seems to not use the automatic sound, instead it loops the single shot sound. Sounds stuttery and strange.
Looks good. I have a couple of suggestions though. Could you add options for all of the pistol cartridges (.38, 10mm, .44, and .45), and make an ESL version (many of us are at the ESP limit).
I will prepare an ESL version in a few days. On the other hand, I will also consider variations in caliber. However, work on this Mod has low priority, so it will not be updated immediately. Thank you.
I'll be happy with just the ESL version, I can add the additional ammo options myself. I've just had no luck converting weapons to ESLs, it always breaks them for me.
Great minds think alike Satojo. I'm going to link this on my Carbine mod for people who want a standalone version. Might also change my long magazine to be straight like your screenshot, it looks better.
