Let's take a look at the new Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) and Indirect Lighting (SSIL) effects introduced with ENB 0.307 for Fallout 4!  This video provides an overview of the new SSAO and SSIL effects, as well as configuration tips and some basic performance metrics, comparing ENB's Ambient Occlusion effects against the game's own HBAO and SSAO offerings.  The new [ENVIRONMENT] controls also introduced in this release will be covered in a separate video... stay tuned!

Fallout 4 - ENB 291 - Sky Control and More

Let's take a look at the new Sky and Time of Day features of ENB 0.291 for Fallout 4!  In this video we take a deep dive into the new Sky parameters which allow you to completely overhaul the appearance of all elements of the sky.  We also look at the Time of Day functionality, and how this can be used to automate various Sky and other effect settings over time.  The video also illustrates some simple tweaks you can use to add darker and more realistic night skies to your own game, and also touches on a few other odds and ends.

Fallout 4 - ENB - Radial Lens Flare and Schmutz - Overview and Installation Guide

Let's take a look at some alternate lens effects for ENB series for Fallout 4, ported by Boris Vorontsov from ENB series for Skyrim!  These effects include a dynamic radial lens flare, as well as 'schmutz', or dirt and grime that appear on the camera lens when exposed to bright light.  

This video provides an overview of the effects, followed by detailed installation and configuration instructions. I also provide a link to my custom enblensmask.png file which you may use in your own game, see below for details:

Fallout 4 - ENB - Color Correction Overview and Tutorial

Let's take a look at the color correction tools provided by ENB series for Fallout 4!  This video demonstrates how these tools can be used to easily create stylized looks for you game image, including a black and white 'noir' look, a vintage sepia-tone look, and a more vibrant look reminiscent perhaps of Kodachrome or Technicolor film techniques.  We also take a deeper look at some of ENB's specific color correction tools, and how these correspond to similar tools found in image editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop.  ENB's color correction tools are produced by the enbeffect.fx file, and can be configured using ENB's in-game menu, as shown in the video.

Fallout 4 - ENB Depth of Field - Focal Point Fix

Is the ENB depth of field focal point not quite following your cursor correctly? This is another quick follow up to my previous video, about the new 'Depth of Field' effect introduced with ENB 0.287 for Fallout 4, where I demonstrate a simple fix for this issue -- thanks to kingeric1992 at the enbdev.com forums for the tip!  The fix involves modifying one value in your enbdepthoffield.fx file, as follows:

Replace:
float tempcurr=TextureDepth.SampleLevel(Sampler0, coord, 0.0).x;

With:
float tempcurr=TextureDepth.SampleLevel(Sampler0, 0.5, 0.0).x;

Now the focal point of the depth of field effect tracks 100% with the position of your cursor! :)

Fallout 4 - ENB Depth of Field - 3rd Person Camera Fix

This is a quick follow up to my previous video, about the new 'Depth of Field' effect introduced with ENB 0.287 for Fallout 4, where I provide you with some simple tweaks for your Fallout4.ini file that allow the camera to behave nicely in 3rd person with the depth of field effect.  The issue addressed here is that the player character is not positioned in the center of the screen in3rd person mode, and as such they are rendered blurry and out of focus.

The lines to add to your Fallout4.ini file are as follows:

Let's take a look at the 'Depth of Field' feature of ENB 0.287 for Fallout 4!  This video describes how to enable and configure the new Depth of Field effect, and also examines some the effect's pros and cons, and future possibilities.  Depth of field simulates properties of a camera lens, where subjects in the range at which the camera is pointed appear crisp and clear, while subjects out of this range appear blurry and out of focus.

First Useful ENB Graphical Effect for Fallout 4

The first useful effect of ENB series for Fallout 4!  This video demonstrates a character lighting fix, which removes a fake light source that is applied to ALL characters in the game to make them more visible in dark environments.  ENB fixes this issue, resulting in more realistic lighting, and enemies who can actually now hide in shadows :)
