Also remember these are retro-1950s styled remnants - many old books and some thicker mags used to have cloth in their covers and cotton stitching (some still do). Plus in Fallout's 2070s world maybe paper was replaced with man-made synthetic cloth. After all, it couldn't all just be wood-based traditional paper because by the 2280s all these burnt mags would be charred dust.
Not compatible with any sorting mods :(. I had to go into the mod and rename everything by hand using FO4Edit... Still a nice addition to the mod list though.
There a way to remove overdue book and technical document from the mod? That way some won't have to worry looking for the items if they wanna turn in for stuff.
Never noticed if Giddyup Buttercup was a junk item or not. Coffee tins are supposed to be pretty rare though, like 8 in the whole game. Not sure you'd want that as a junk item in case you wanna decorate with it.
I think that comment was to me. lol. I think you give a Giddyup Buttercup to Arlen Glass at The Slog. But I thought maybe that was a specific one marked as a quest item, idk. And I know there's a silver locket you give to one of the Abernathys. Coffee tins just need to give me some steel/aluminum and be done with it. rofl. I hate those things! So random! As far as decorating goes, I use mods and god mode for the unlimited supplies. hehe. So no biggy! I think I can figure out how to add certain things with FO4Edit. Thanks! Edit: So, Giddyup Buttercup IS misc/junk in vanilla (Valdacils changes it). Buttercup Toy is the quest item. Valdacil also changes the Silver Locket to a "valuable" item instead of misc/junk. So Valdacil is just filling my inventory with crap instead of letting me easily press T to store all junk! lol.
Just open up Valdacils with FO4Edit and change the tags, it's as easy as changing a spreadsheet.
Click on MISC ITEMS, that opens up the entire list, scroll down the list until you find the tags you want to change.
Next Playthrough, I'm not going to use Valdacils at all, it takes up half of my esps. I'll just use the Script that automatically tags everything in the individual ESPS and changes them instead. No more messing around with extra esps thaqt just put tags on everything, when I can put tags directly in each esp
Yeah. I've already added/edited several things, like cigarettes and such. Why does Valdacil's make them into currency? I mean, I get it. I guess. But no. Had to change it. Anyway, thanks a ton for the mod, Shaggy08251993. You've helped me regain some sanity. lol
Giddyup Buttercup? Coffee Tin? Silver Locket? Those would be nice additions as well. I have Valdacil's Item Sorting and that mod changes some things, so maybe that's why those objects go into my miscellaneous and not the junk tab. But yeah! Thanks for this! Endorsed!!
Yeah, my other comment was to you. Nexus has been screwy for me when replying to others for some reason. I'll click reply on one person, and the chat box opens for another. Really confusing.
Now we can also use these items in the junk jet gun, right? I hated the idea of picking up the books that carried weight, but only sold at 1 cap each!
Anyway to change the stingwing stinger into a junk item and not a misc. item so it can be scrapped also? What about the ruined (not burnt) books that are found also? What about wooden planks you can kick around but can't pick up?
P.S. I never understood how cloth comes from paper. You would think that the various apparel you find/wear would be items to scrap into cloth. P.P.S. The most useless in-game item was the lawn mower. At leas in FO3 you could find a blade that may be scrap-able in FO4...or a flying lawnmower for those craaazzzy modders.
I believe ALL books and magazines are covered, also the technical manual. I just didn't include them in the description. I didn't edit the stingwing stinger though.
Hey, before I download, quick question: Are those items with your mods considered "junk" or still in the "misc" category? I just want to be able to store them with the "store all junk" option..
In FO4 Edit, they appear under the category "Misc Items", however, when you add the "Component" tag to them and select a resource to gain, then they get switched from "Misc" to "Junk" tabs in-game.
Edit: So to clarify, yes, they will be included when "Move all junk to workshop" is used.
Just to let you know in case you wanted to correct the title "Burnt" or "Burned" are the past tense of "Burn" there is no such word as "Burnted" Nevertheless good mod
I've been up for 24 hours. My eyes are bloodshot and I can't think because my brain is fried from making my own ultimate fallout 4 mod consisting of 200 other mods that I've spliced to all work together...
Edit: to clarify, when I say "My own", I don't mean in that I'm claiming I made the mods. Just that I put in a hell of a lot of work to make a "One mod file to rule them all" type of thing for myself, which unfortunately I can't share due to permissions.

That's like running a sausage factory backwards to make pigs.
Made me audibly laugh.
Still a nice addition to the mod list though.
