Thanks for the support! The comments and suggestions are great, and we'll be considering them for future updates.

A note on the quest and lack of quest marker on the storage trunk and key: this was designed with purpose. No quest marker exists for either. Instead, the player must search the museum. It's not a big place, as a hint - the are relatively near each other in the museum. ;)

To those wanting a dirtier version, as AWP3RATOR stated, we will see about this in a future update, but I wanted to add my two cents to this.

Black is difficult to show dirt on. The jacket is the Greaser Jacket, the pants are from the Road Leathers. The textures are the same vanilla textures from both outfits, darkened to Black with the necessary normal and specular map edits to get what you see in the mod.

Go to Nick's office in Diamond City (or similar area with dim lighting) and stand near the door, you will see just how worn the textures really are. The other thing is, the outfit's location wasn't just for implementation, it was also to explain why the MFP looks so good (Despite the fact that it does have worn vanilla diffuse textures, but doesn't show as well because it's so dark)

Just wanted to clarify that with you all.

Having said that, I understand why you all would want a dirtier option for both outfits, especially the Road Warrior version, I did too, believe me you!

We will do our best to make a dirtier option for both outfits in a future update.

Is there a chance you can make a stand alone version which doesn't need BodySlide and CBBE?

You can download the file without those mods, the esp doesn't have either as a master. The female version has zeroed sliders settings in the main mod though. I will make a CBBE Vanilla settings version for you and others to download for those who don't have CBBE and play with vanilla female bodies. Extract the contents to your Fallout 4 data folder.

    This looks amazing.

But why no love for Imperator Furiosa ?

I have messed up and wondering if there is anyway to save my current save. I am playing with Horizon for which I found a patch for this mod. I just discovered that while I loaded the patch, I never loaded the actual mod, unchecked in MO2. I have since finished Out of Time and just realised I never started quest for this and discovered my faux paus. I have activated the mod and entered the museum but nothing happens. Is there anyway to trigger the quest via console or am I [insert expletive here] ?

Not to worry :) The Horizon patch includes most of the plugin assets from this mod (but not all - like the quest itself).  The quest for Main Force Patrol is a short immersive way to acquire the outfit and crafting recipes, we didn't want it to be tedious - but dislike "craft at the chem station" or worse "console yourself the stuff" :)

To start the quest, simply type in console:  setstage MFP_MR_01 10
You can also do the following in console first: getstage MFP_MR_01   (if the value here is 0.00, the quest never started (probably your case)

When the quest starts, you'll see the normal quest start pop-up in the upper left corner, and it will be added to your journal.  A few seconds later, you should see a center-screen pop-up from the mod providing some additional context.

If starting the quest manually doesn't work, you can always console yourself the items and the global variable, which is needed to unlock the crafting recipes.  In console enter: help MFP 4 all     Then console player.additem <item_id> <qty>  for each.  Also enter in console: set MFP_CraftingAllowed to 1  to enable crafting.

Note that when consoling yourself the MFP Outfit, it will be a standard version.  The version found in the museum's locked chest is a legendary variant with increased stats.

Wow, thanks so much for the detailed response! Considering my blunder, I would have understood being ignored :-) will use the get/set stage. Hopefully the last you'll hear from me, except for the endorsement of course.

Update: Weird, neither the set/get stage worked, err with ' MFP_MR_01 not found Quest parameter'. For the set MFP_CraftingAllowed 1 I got an unknown variable. additem did work so I got to see them. No worries about other stuff I will be restarting this playthru at some point and will make sure I install properly. Thanks again!

So. I tried to do the quest but whenever I interact with the Trunk using the key, the game crashes to desktop. so I'm wondering what's going on.

I seem to have a problem finding the key for the trunk. The quest to find the keys won't lead me to where the Keys are and i searched all over the museum for anything.. am i missing something here? Am I this oblivious or is something wrong?

There should be a map marker for it on your HUD compass and a HUD indicator when you near.

      Spoiler:
      Show
The key is inside a desk on the second floor, in an otherwise abandoned room. Opposite side of the stairs than the Minuteman are hiding

Fantastic mod. Thank you both for making this. It looks badass. I periodically check back to see if the update has happened. Is that still a coming thing?

At any rate, this is awesome. Thanks again!

Hey, I was just wondering what the glasses mod is that your're using in the screenshots.
    nvm I found it, It's Rad-Ban Eyewear Inc. if anyone's interested : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8342?tab=description

Ok, this time I've got a more tangible problem.

When wearing the MFP suit, the thigh holster and cosmetic shotgun align as you'd expect. See:

    http://davidferstat.com/cases/case_0003/ScreenShot1.png

If I switch to my Vault-suit, you can see that the shotty doesn't quite align with the holster:

    http://davidferstat.com/cases/case_0003/ScreenShot3.png

If I try the vanilla undershirt and jeans, it's even worse:

    http://davidferstat.com/cases/case_0003/ScreenShot4.png

Now, speaking as a someone almost completely ignorant of these things, it seems to me that, given that both holster and shotty are costume items, they would be rigged to align with the same part of the skeleton. However, it seems this isn't so.

I've checked, and I am running CBBE 2.6.2 (slim) and Bodyslide 5.0.6.

    Any advice?

Game engine limitations :)The shotgun is fully weighted to the tight thigh leg bone, whereas the holster and thigh strap is weighted to the right thing skin leg and thigh bones. The difference in bone use here is affecting the placement of the shotgun and holster respectively. Your character looks to be on the thinner side of the body size triangle, and so the alignment of the two meshes goes off of center (middle triangle) at the lower and upper ends of the weight axis.

I did attempt different weighting for those two items, and not being able it get it perfect for all scenarios, I ended with a one size fits most situation. Wearing that holster though with other outfits that it wasn't designed for does pose additional issues.

This is very impressive. I have one ... quibble ... though.

When my new toon, a female, opened up the steamer trunk in the museum, she saw a message advising that this was the gear that her husband had used in Australia. She was not amused by that, as it was her who'd been tearing around, trying to restore law and order, not him. :)

Seriously, is there any need for this distinction? One of the hallmarks of the game, after all, is the opportunity for women to be just as badass as the men.

Yes and no. No there should not normally be a distinction between genders serving their country. However, the female player character's backstory as presented by Bethesda is that Nora was a lawyer and stayed home during the war, while Nate served. This mod attempts to weave into the original story, as presented, by Bethesda. Obviously some artistic licenses were taken to make this work - but we felt it was more appropriate and immersive not to alter Nora's backstory.

This was actually implemented with purpose, to provide a slightly different experience, based on the character's gender. Male player characters see slightly altered messages indicating that the outfit is their own. As it happens there are presently 6 different messages, 3 per gender, that the player can see - depending on how they start the quest.

      For more info:
      https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Nora
      https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Nate

As it happens, I play a female character with the mod: War Veteran Female Sole Survivor (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16817) I considered providing support for this mod at the time, but decided against it as the outfit could very well have still been Nate's, even if Nora served. Perhaps they were deployed in different regions :)

Fair call. Thanks for your reasoned reply, and for the background info.

Also, thanks for the link to that mod, which I'd never heard of. (Typical timing; I discover it just AFTER I create a new female toon. )

Nothing much we can do with that since I've literally edited the Greaser Jacket as far as it can be with editing the mesh and the diffuse, normal, and specular maps. The shoulder tabs on the jacket are in the mesh itself and I have no way to just edit it out. And even if I did, it's beyond me to blend in deleting them from the texture maps.

Basically, someone would have to be able to create a new Jacket from scratch and that's simply beyond my abilities.
