After revisiting this since the last time I played, I'm disappointed that it seemed to develop no further other than setting up a new alternate questline that ended up not working for me; my game kept crashing, Elliot kept vanishing, and after the umpteenth CTD upon attempting to reload a previous save to re-enable him I gave up. I won't be able to see what new content was added to this unfinished mod because of these issues.

It's a shame, really, but a re-occurring problem with a lot of early Fallout 4 quest modding; an interesting premise that never saw its full fruition. It's understandable, modding is hard, but still a shame. The idea of a 200-year old whiskey empire trying to eliminate the local moonshiners is a good one, and a remake of this could result in something really great.

I'm at the stage in the quest to "Report back to Elliot"

But when I get there, the marker is there, but he is not. Any tips ? I've deleted any possible conflicting mods that I can think of.

    Thank you

For anyone else experiencing this issue, do the following:

Open up the console and click in the area where the marker is until "Elliot" is selected. Type "disable", then "enable", and the NPC should reappear and the quest dialogue should commence.

If you cannot select him in the console, revert to a previous save where Elliot was present, select him in the console, go back to the save where he had vanished, and repeat the steps.

When i talked to Elliot the screen went black and then i was in a jail cell. nothing happened after that. I couldn't get out so i used console commands. Couldn't get out that way either. tried reloading an old save but they were all gone including my other character saves. im not happy

I can't talk to elliot he just say "uh" and stuff, so even if i go to the distress signal, and talk to elliot, nothing's work. So i can't continue the quest

Huh that's strange. A couple things come to mind that might fix it.

      - Did you have all 3 files ( Main, Textures, and esp) in the data folder if you downloaded it manually? Or did you download it with NMM?
      - You have to have subtitles on otherwise you may miss the dialog prompt.
      - Do you have your ini file setup?
      - There maybe mods that are conflicting with this one since I use the red rocket gas station nearby where the opening scene happens.

I tested it by downloading it manually, with NMM, and through Bethesda.net on two different computers and two different steam accounts and all three downloads and installations it worked fine.

If you'd like to follow up in a DM i'm more than happy to chat!

hi. i have the same issue as PrinceAnzo.

i have all 3 files in the data folder.
      subtitle is turned on.
i have the ini file setup already even before this mod. i checked it again just to be sure.
i have no mods that use that red rocket near diamond city. im not sure though about the other mods i have installed, they may or may not have an issue with your mod.

i tried rearranging the mod order through LOOT (auto-arrange), still no effect.

most of the mods installed in my game are weapons, graphics related stuff, very few quest mods.

here's my experience with the mod

the guard outside the camp told me to talk to elliot. then i went to elliot and he said "uh" or whatever that is suppose to be. Then there is another quest marker that led to a few dead moonshine people and wellington gang. i looted the bodies but the quest marker is still there. another quest stage popped up. it says that i talk again to elliot. now my quest log has 2 entries that i have to talk to elliot. so i went back to elliot and he said nothing in connection with the quest.

waybefore i started the quest i chanced upon a group of wellington's gang. since they were hostile and shooting at me i had to fight back. i looted the bodies and also found a note detailing some sort of product delivery.

This issue should be resolved now. If they are still persistent in version 1.12 let me know and I'll try to work with you to pin point the issue!

I'm having this but with William in the newer version. Also I hit him with a punch to see if that'd fix it and when he shot me the game crashed.

I'm using version 2.0. No voice or written responses from Eliot Eastwood. Could this be due to not working with XDI or is it an unsolved glitch?

      - No, unchecking Extended Dialogue Interface did not help. I've never encountered such a dialogue failure before.

Even if the mod had portions that are unvoiced, there is no reason that Elliot's dialogue boxes should not be showing up on the screen. This renders the mod unplayable.

I'll try this out...even though there are major bug reports in the not too distant past.

I enjoyed this quest mod, but agree with MisterBig762's assessment. I mistrusted a certain person from the beginning, and got frustrated I couldn't switch sides (especially with William).

However; this has real potential and it would be worth while updating with some more choices. Well done, and count me in as another vote in favor of a quest expansion.

Do you know if there is a way to make the conversation advance by clicking? I am a fast reader and having to wait until the game decides to advance to the next sentence, which then takes 0.001 seconds to read, pulled on my nerves.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am currently working on a big 2.0 update that will add a third quest to this mod where you can work with Abigail and choose sides. This update will also add, I think, 5 new endings to this quest! I'm hoping this update will be ready to launch in the next couple of weeks. The biggest feedback I've received is people wanting to pick sides and be able to cross over, so that is what I am primarily focused on.

As for the dialog advancement, from what I gather from other quest mods without voice over, it's just simply not possible to skip or speed up the time the dialog stays up without a voice over. This is why I'm hoping to work with a voice-over group in September when they all get back into town. However this project is significantly bigger than any project they've done before so I'll have to see if they have time to do it or not.

Please keep checking back in the coming weeks though for more updates!

Have you tried putting in a silent audio file, like in Skyrim's FuzRoDuh?
Over there that does a good job of making the game readerfriendly.

Some good stuff here, I'll give anything a big thumbs up that adds to the early level questing of the game which I think Fallout 4 is sorely lacking in. It does make the city feel more grounded and alive, that a bunch of moonshiners would be feeling the heat from the local whiskey gang. Great idea, well executed.

It was conflicting heavily and causing my game to crash constantly until I moved it to the bottom of the load order. My guess is the culprit is Diamond City Expansion, although I'm not sure why. All I know is that DCE has served me well since the beginning of my playthrough, no FPS drop anywhere in Boston. I installed this mod and I was having a hard time moving smoothly. Also around the crater where the final whiskey-boy building is was nigh impossible to navigate the exterior of without intense stuttering. I had to hold down the button to be able to access the door.

But like I said, it's a neat idea, and I wish Fallout 4 had more quests like this one that really flesh out the ground level Bostonians. Stuff like this, Red Scare and Tales from the Commonwealth are the tops. Cheers.
