I have not monitored, maintained, or done anything with this program in a long time. It appears to be wreaking havoc for some people. For now I am re-uploading the original F4SGM 1.0 I made back in 2015 which uses the same code base as the following mods:
The Savegame Manager is written in AutoHotkey the source code is included in the download archive, it can easily be opened in notepad/notepad++ for review. F4SGM's code is an edit of FO3 Savegame Manager.

    • I have not used askedal's version so I cannot elaborate on its functionality.
Some notes on how the 1.0 version functions:

    • Selecting a profile other than 'STANDARD' edits the 'SLocalSavePath=' line in FALLOUT.ini. ex. 'SLocalSavePath=F4SGM\Mod Testing\'
    • Default 'STANDARD' save path: 'SLocalSavePath=Saves\'
    • F4SGM stores save games here: 'C:\Users\%userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\F4SGM'
    • I did not update the 'Scan for new profiles' function in v1.0. I suggest creating a new profile and moving your saves manually.

Is one able to inspect all spell effects or perk effects on a character with this? Looking for a way to externally manage a character for the sake of possible bugfixing.

Well this was the worst decision I've made in fallout 4. There go ALL of my saves. FFS include a mandatory tutorial or something.

This s#*! deleted all of my saves. All of them.

Yeah, you really need to be careful with this mod. Moving your save files back isn't enough. I just deleted the INIs in my Fallout4 folder and relaunched the game. I can access my game now, but damn that nearly gave me a heart attack.

I assumed this was an editor like KSE. It's SO not.

Deleted the program in May, then mid November started playing again for a week. Then suddenly everything after May has vanished, and it's not in the F4SGM folder or anywhere else. Maybe it's a coincidence, and I'm a sleepwalker who deletes his own save game files randomly. Either way I'm backing my s#*! up way more from now on.

Is there any way to reverse the effects of this mod?

Nvm I just found the fix. Just move all the files from the f4sgm back into the original save folder. Make sure to take them out of their individual character foldersbefore putting them back.

This program is certainly a bit wonky. It probably does the job, but it's neither intuitive nor transparent.

WARNING: Do not simply delete the F%SGM folder, as this is where your saves are stored upon using the program. Beware also that, for some reason, the SGM makes your CustomsIni 'Read Only'. To fix this, right-click the file and uncheck the 'Read Only' box, hit apply, and you're done.

Be sure to follow the instructions for uninstalling, or find the .FOS files within the F$SGM directory, whilst also removing the lines in Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Customs.ini reading "SLocalSavePath=F4SGM\wws\".

I'll personally have to stray away from this program, for what good it may do I simply cannot know how harmful it may be, and to back up my saves for the sake of using a backup manager that backs up my saves really defeats the purpose. I'll give it another look when improvements have been made, however.

This isn't working correctly. If you select a character, play, then exit, it resets to the standard save folder even though the character is still selected. When you now press play you won't see saves for the character that is selected.. You have to select another character or standard, then reselect the character you were just playing.
