Now my own comment. Kudo to you for making a Starlight reel! I just know there's any number of people that would love if you shared your development of that with some of the VotW content creators.
Speaking of reels, I have to ask, if reels are taken to Far Harbor, would they be usable for the big screen out that way?
I followed the tutorials RazorWire posted on YouTube. He needs to update them as there are some inconsistencies between what he shows on the video and the actual files he shared, so it took me some time to figure out the errors in the .nif files etc. He also doesn’t mention that you must change all ID numbers if using FO4edit since it conflicts with other tapes created by other users, giving some tapes the wrong names. If enough people ask I can make my own YouTube tutorial unless RazorWire updates his.
Can you PM me to give me some more info on the issues you mentioned? I don't want to clog up your comments page with a technical discussion/back-and-forth. Thanks.
A major bummer that those Razorwire tutorials have vanished from youtube. The process as it is outlined on VOTW is right over my head. I can't even load the .esl to try my usually reverse-engineering trick. I found the meshes but have no clue where to go from there. Thank you for the mod btw.
I would love to see this mod but when I go to craft it, it says 1 plastic, 1 aluminum when I have literally 1000s of it. Can use the console for the tapes or might something be wrong? I have it with the other tapes mods in my load order and they work fine. (just the vanilla and the Civil Defense) This would be a great addition to my settlements. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
edit - i tried reinstalling the mod and this time it showed my correct amount of plastic and alumnium but when i crafted it i didn't see the two options(duck and cover and the other). I crafted it anyway and got stuck in the menu. Which was fine a simple "player.moveto player" got me out of it. When i got to the video player i went into my misc folder and it only had a "nuke films" option and wouldnt go into the video player. im not sure what happened.
If this functions the same as the other tape mods linked to on the main VOTW page, I have turned ALL of them into .ESLs with no problems except for a loss of sound on "Good old Cartoons", think it was like Vol II and III, the other dozen or so work 100% as .ESLs with compacted IDs.
I've gone ahead & added this to the list (on VotW's main description page) of compatible holotape/film reel mods. Have had users request 'Duck and Cover', so thanks for making this.
