About this mod

Ever get frustrated about the fact that lamps in the wastleland can't be used as weapons against your enemies? Well now they can be with this simple yet effective mod which lights your enemies on fire if they get too close to an oil lamp you decide to pop with your pistol!

Combustible Oil Lamps aims to make oil lamps throughout the wasteland dangerous hazards which the player can use against their enemies. Shooting a lamp with a weapon will cause it to explode and let off an oil explosion which will burn nearby enemies resulting in fire damage and with any luck, death.

This mod replaces all of the lamps in the base game along with the DLCs, depending on the file you choose. All static oil lamps are replaced with combustible activators which will explode upon being hit by a weapon. Enemies within range will set on fire and take fire damage for approximatly ten seconds, acommpanied by some nice fire effects. After 24 hours the lamps will respawn, allowing for them to be reused on enemies that respawn later on.

I originally intended to use an MCM for this mod, however I felt that it wasn't detailed enough to justify one and this is just my first Fallout 4 project. The options which were originally going to be present are being left as standard, given that the mod works as intended with their default settings. The main file choices include a DLC version and a non-DLC version, so be sure to install the file which matches the content you own.

Due to the way the mod works and some of the features, I was forced to use an activator to replace all instances of oil lamps throughout the world, instead of changing the base static item. Some things just wouldn't have been possible without replacing each individual lamp. This of course means that any other mod which makes use of oil lamps would require a patch, however it would be a fairly simple process. If anyone has any recommendations for large well-known mods you would like a patch for, I may consider doing it myself. There are also other lamp mods which may require a patch later on down the line.
