I highly recommend you use Place Anywhere. It's pretty much a necessity if you want to be able to place these foundations with the least amount of aggravation.
I'm playing with Horizon and the compatibility patch, so I don't want to cheat in my setup and use the combined foundation/plot type, rather I'd like to remove those from my menu and select your lovely foundations to apply after I place the SS plot type so it snaps to it.
I know I can currently do that but your variations appear before the standard, which lines do I need to delete in fo4edit to have only the foundations in the foundations submenu and not in the plot type menus please?
I adore your plots. That said, I have disabled the mod for the time being. I honestly feel that the bare plots should be a subfolder of Materials and that the plots with buildings should be a subsection of Special in the workshop mode. Navigation would be a lot easier, that way.
I would alsohave preferred that. I would be fine with the mod plots appearing after the standard ones, too. Anyway, thanks for the mod, I think I need to disable it for now though.
Not sure how you managed that. The only thing that was changed was the menu the plots are now located. Sounds like you went from ESP to ESL or vice versa however your download history does not show this.
sooo idk if is exactly this mod but since i changed to this version my game is ctd "game stop to work" i'll test with the older version and give you a feedback
feedback: the esp esl question was not the problem hahahha the crashes was for a mod called more females that i deactivate by mistake so it was freezing and crashing the game just to be off
btw, thanks for the quick reply, this is rare here on nexus
I started a new FO4 playthrough two days ago with an updated mod list and really enjoyed your foundations but wondered if you could make a plot-less version, only to find you updated it today for exactly what I was looking for. lol Thanks for the work put into this, its a really useful mod for something so focused on building like Sim Settlements.
I love these foundations. Honestly, with all the fuzz, why not make em standalone? Like, plop foundation, plop sim settlements plot on top. Compatible with anything, past, present, future, even useful without SS.
I'm keeping an eye on it for now because of the new SS patch coming out, but I always enjoyed your crazy ideas! I always lamented that there weren't wood industrial plots.
Looks like he will be making the current SS foundations unbuildable. They will be left in the mod for backwards compatibility but removed from the Workshop menu. He told me he will be replacing them with one foundation type. I think thats a mistake and will lead to boring looking builds.
Well that's a bugger, as that I still use JTBryant's foundation pieces, which are just terrain pieces, so works well for me to level off items within a city build.
However, we will see what happens, as honestly, I like to build the way I do, and will try out your mod in my next clean play through (since I already built up the bigger ones, smaller ones I just let RoTC deal with)
Literally just one foundation style? For all plot types or just industrial ones? Do they change or are altered in 'look' based on what's on the plot itself/add-on author choice?
"I'm also moving away from plots with foundations built into them as they create a ton of duplicate work. In the next expansion I'm going to be removing foundation plots entirely so that I only have to manage one plot activator for each type (well 2 with Interiors). (I will keep the actual models and records in place for backward compatibility, but they won't be buildable any longer)."
Well if he separates foundations from plots, does that not leave room for others to create foundations, without the need to consider SS, other than size wise. I mean it’s nice that it is all integrated, but if it’s a matter of just building on top of a compatible foundation, then would that not be possible as well. Just look at your diversity in plot types, just make them like a concrete or floor with snap on nodes, 1x1, 2x2, 3x3. I’m sure we could then do the rest of adding the plots ourselves.
My point exactly, i do the same. Eventually the same things get boring over time off course. MrJose has given us more ways to spice things up now, so the more the better, I don’t see the problem of it. Now i can understand the frustrations of it for those that created SS mods, having to redo some parts, on the other hand it does leave more time for creating more amazing stuff, by keeping some things more simple, just my two cents.
I'm not going to do anything until the update hits and I see the changes. What I would like to do is leave the new functionality that KG has and have the old plots still available. The fact that he is leaving the old models and such in there for backwards compatibility should make this easy to accomplish.
I installed and added a few plots using these so far. They fit very well with an industrial vibe I intend for my Starlight REPCONN site; the cars and barrels especially are very cool.
I made all of these foundations the same way, but in my testing I did notice there were some you couldn't walk under. I am going to make a guess and say it has to do with the plot that gets placed on the foundation. I will test it further in a few days and let you know what I find.

I downgraded back to 1.0, went back to the old save, and it's still just buildings, no foundations
I can even select the ASAM sensor but it just says "could not find menu"
Even when I nuke the plot they don't disappear
Is there any way to get my 1.0 plots to 2.0 without having to nuke and rebuild?
In case this happens to anybody else-
what i've been doing to get rid of these half-plots is
select all the loose parts floating around with the command console and 'markfordelete' one by one

Enjoy the Mod
