I'd love to see some screenshots of what you all do with the place. If you feel like sharing, submit them to the mod page and I'll post them up! :D

Just wanted to update everyone that I've not abandoned this mod, but I also don't have a lot of time for working on it anymore, due to a combo of a job with long hours, and other games. I'll try to look over any issues people have been having and try to bring it up to a respectable level again, when I have some free time.

For anyone trying to use this and having the issue where the settlement size isn't expanded, try moving the mod to the bottom of your load order from the in-game menu. After doing that I walked the entire perimeter and didn't run into any issues. I ran around inside too looking for areas that I'd read would randomly begin the exit workshop countdown and didn't find anything there either. Also scrap everything seemed to work without any issues.

If I run into any bugs I'll report back here.

Hey everyone, this mod seems pretty broken at the minute, as it doesn't actually change the settlement's size. However I've managed to find a work around for those of you who still want to use this mod. There's a second mod called Jamaica Plains Expansion v3, which expands the workshop borders to a similar size of this mod, although it doesn't change any of the landscape. If you download this mod, and then download Jamaica Plains Expansion v3, and place it below Rise of a new city, Jamaica Plains Expansion v3 should overwrite the workshop but nothing else. I haven't encountered any bugs with this yet, but I'll be sure to report back here if I do. Hopefully this helps anyone who needs it

Excellent mod sadly i've found is incompatible with Build High mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3528) although expanded it's limits almost as the depicted on your mod which is appreciated i couldn't scrap the most of the buildings (which i want to rebuild), also the filling of the building which was in front of Jamaica Plain 's main building is a good point though (it just made a very light slope which made me modify the whole building (lol).

Anyways, this mod is endorsed and tracked also when i finnish this settlement i'll upload screenshots of it. :D

    Great Job!

I know it's been a while but if you want to include all the other parts that you can't scrap, look into Build and Scrap Beyond Workshop Boundaries, as it allowed me to (with Expanded Quick-Clean Jamaica Plain and Build High with Scrapper's Patch and Scrap Everything Ultimate Edition); not sure how it would work with this mod, but worth a try.

Just tried this mod BUT although the green border showing the area limit is still about 50 yards ahead of me I get the "leaving crafting area" at the same place the vanilla borders are.

I moved it to the bottom of the load order and it resolved this problem - not in NMM but in the in game Mods menu.

Just got this location as a settlement, and was really disappointed to see how much ground I was allowed to work with. Thanks to this mod, I'm able to build my settlement a little more realistically. Thanks so much, amigo!

Thanks for this mod. Jamaica Plains really does seem terribly underused in its vanilla form.

I just happened to come back here to clean up the place for the first time after updating to v1.5 of the mod. This version seems to be even better than before! I ran through the whole settlement area, exploring what little nit-picky details might be left to cover.

    — Some of the planters on the side of buildings can be scrapped, and some can't. Also, even when you delete the planter itself, the plants that were inside are just floating in the air. Deleting part of one of those could be an awful mistake to make in the middle of a long build. I don't know if there's a way to flag these as not scrappable…?
    — When you scrap the bus near the workshop building, some of the debris decals are left behind, floating in the air. (001155ed, 001155ee, 001155ef)
    — In the shop with the two Police Protectrons, when you scrap the shelves in the back, the lantern is left behind, floating. (00097d27)
    — It would be super great to be able to scrap the trash piles at the base of that wall next to the Protectrons as well, to make room for a vendor behind the counter or some furniture up against the wall. (0009650a, 00096515). Similarly, maybe make that counter (and the paper decal on top) scrappable as well. (counter 00096550, decal 000965ce, cabinet doors are 0018842a)
    — The garage at the northeast corner (000f1c49) is scrappable, but the roof over it (000f1c4e) is not!
    — In that same northeastern house, it would be great if the rubble piles were scrappable. (00097d41, 001883b1)
    — Also in the northeastern house, furniture doesn't sit on the floor; it clips to the ground under the house instead.
    — The main frame and shell of the church are scrappable! This might or might not be game-breaking, depending on when it's done…? The other problem with this is that there are places on the inside where you can't even see that you have the building selected, so a careless scrapper might accidentally find themselves falling out of a church that's no longer there! ^_^'
    — Most of the pews in the church are scrappable (yay!) but some are not (aww): 000f1b9f [EP], 000f1b9e, 000f1b9d, 000f1afd
    — In the house next to the church, if you delete the desk on the second floor (), the paper decal (000f1b60) is left behind.
    — In the next room over, if you delete the dresser that has the radio and iron on it (000f1b4d), then the trash decal on top (0019645a) is left behind.
    — In the house next to the town hall, deleting the dining room table doesn't delete the candle on top, which seems to be six separate objects! (0009672f-00096734)
    — The ground floor of the house next to town hall has a weird problem where furniture won't sit on it; it will clip to the ground under the house instead.

I hope this helps with the next version. Thanks again for a great and much-needed mod. ^_^

A lot of that is scrappable with the scrap mod, scrap everything, which I recommend, if you don't already use it. I tried to shy away from modifying any objects that scrap mods already scrap, because it could interfere with the scrap recipes already set by those mods. I could always try to make a "no scrap mods needed" version, if really necessary. I'll also try to double check everything and make sure they weren't just things I missed.

As far as the buildings where things sink through the floor, I think the way I fix that is I have to modify the entire item(since the floor isn't a singular object by itself) to be considered a floor object, but I'll have to look more into it.

Currently I haven't had a lot of time to work on the next update, due to work(12 hour shifts), but I plan on dedicating some time to it this weekend. Thanks for your input!

Yeah, I don't use any of the scrapping mods, and don't know what's involved in flagging something as scrappable. Just recounting the stuff I found as I wandered around clearing the area.

I guess I should have figured that those houses were single units since they were not planned as part of the settlement… It should be easy enough to work around by console-moving some floor pieces into place.

Please don't take my post as negative criticism; I really appreciate you taking the time to make this mod, and the latest version is brilliant. As I said, these are all just nit-picky final details. Cheers, and thanks again!

Not a problem, and I didn't take it as negative criticism. I can always create an optional file to go with it that includes scrap recipes for everything else, but it would take up an extra slot in your mod list.

Update is delayed due to my video card dying and taking out part of my system with it. I've rebuilt, and will try to get a new update out soon.

If you use Place Everywhere press insert key to enable additional items. Works for most of the items but not all. Another way, and I use this for the feral bodies that are there in houses that keep resetting every once in a while back into the houses even when I picked them up and manually dragged them away, is go into console mode, click the item, to ensure its the right one type MODPOS Z 1 and it should move up one point, if its the wrong one type MODPOS Z -1 without clicking off it and it will move back. Once you have the right one, type DISABLE on the selected item and it will vanish from the area. Another way is to shove it through the ground with the MODPOS Z - and set it to something like -1000 but this will just leave it there hogging up resources.

It would be great if the basement became a linked home settlement after the quest, like how there are mods to make the root cellar in sanctuary into a decent hidey hole.

Oh! I nearly missed this mod but I'm glad to see that there's one that expands the borders without changing everything and scrapping all the dummy houses. Thank you so much for this!

    However, a couple points... noticed the eastern / northeastern zones of the build are shown to be much farther than the workshop will actually allow me to work in. After a small amount of time near these edges the workshop boots me out for being out of zone! ;-;

    Also... noticed that some of the retaining walls are allowed to be scrappable here which leads to problems with weird exposed seams in the ground leading into the void. Not sure if the scrappablility of those could be disallowed but it might be nice to avoid accidents... >_<;

does this mod work with the current update of Fallout 4? I'd like to try it out, seeing as Jamaica Plains is really close to Gunners Plaza and the highschool with the ghouls, and it's kindof close to Vault 88. so having a bigger settlement with more space for sniper towers and walls and survival prepared equipment would be nice.

Hey, so first of all, thank you for this, it feels so much more rewarding after clearing out Jamaica Plains than just getting the one house, which was disappointing as hell. So far the only issue I have is once I get to the outer corners of Jamaica Plains (specifically the areas between the church and the diner), I lose the ability to scrap most of the junk that's there, from the cars to the debris and the bodies and whatnot (I have the Scrap Everything and Scrap Dead Bodies mods), whereas closer to the starting house you get I am able to scrap all of those things just fine.

So basically it's just kind of a matter of I can only scrap every other thing at a certain distance away from the house with the workshop table in it. Is there any kind of fix for this, are there any other mods you can recommend for a fix?

Hm, if you have scrap everything, you shouldn't be having that issue. Could be a possible mod conflict, but I can't be sure. If you have the Place Everywhere mod, a temporary solution would be to "Enable extra objects", which will allow you to scrap those items, but without gaining material from them. Immersive Scrapping mod may also help. Sorry for the late reply, btw. I've been busy with a new job, and haven't had the time I wish I did to dedicate to the mod.
