Just a friendly reminder: Any negative comment that does not pertain to criticism on my mod, or any post bashing or talking down to other users WILL be removed. So dont even bother posting. If you have productive criticism then feel free to post, however just stating "Fallout is supposed to have lasers! You have destroyed my lore!" is a pointless statement that will only lead to arguments and clashing of opinions. Bottom line is, you dont like it - Dont download it and move on... Thank you :)
You are right, Fallout 4 is not CS:GO, because CS:GO is great, highly addictive fast-paced shooter and Fallout 4 is bad RPG and pretty mediocre shooter with neat open world. Taking out ugly and impractical weaponry from it is an improvement :)
well, the way i look at it is that fallout 4 is not only a fallout entry but one of the only games you can mod to be exactly what YOU want, sometimes i want laser weapons and all the standard wackiness that comes with a fallout and sometimes i want to turn it into a survival simulator with real guns real med names and the cheese kit from tarkov, it boils down to this, the game is an open world mod platform and people are gonna do with they want with it. it doesnt effect you or anybody else's ability to play the game or enjoy the game so why do you even care ?
Uhg. I've played with this mod for years. It's a must in my load order... But I just discovered an incompatibility with Sim Settlements 2. Beginning of The End quest won't start, nor any quest after. Took me a while to narrow it down, I didn't want it to be so. If you look into it, I'd appreciate it... I'll also look into it and report back.
OMG Thank you I have been wanting to do a playthrough that was more realistic. It is funny how literally the other day I was checking and I was so bummed out I couldn't find any mods that got rid of lasers and plasmas. Anyways thank you very much, going to download this asap
Im glad you like it, hope it works out well for you :) Ive been wanting a more realistic playthrough myself, and im honestly shocked no one has made this yet.
No one made it yet because the aesthetic, as someone else commented, is a post-apocalypse in a retro-future.
I'm not surprised people aren't in touch with the aesthetic as the generation that really understood it is rapidly disappearing. I'm not sure how old you are, but the material required for you to "Get it" would require you to look back to retro Sci-Fi of the 40's and 50's.
Fallout isn't supposed to be STALKER or DayZ, and the inclusion of plasma weapons, clunky robots, and nuclear powered cars wasn't accidental. Pulling the weapons because you don't like them is one thing, but pulling them because it ruins the "immersion" only communicates that you don't understand the reference material.
It's your mod, sure, and that's all well and good. You could even argue that most of the weapons are gone because they can't function anymore, or the ammo can't be found any longer after 200 years. That's fine, and there are legit reasons to remove it. But removing them because they're not immersive? Naw.
Ya, i got a little upset because of the authors description "fantasy weapons" what sounds disrespectful (not only) over the whole fallout games. He should just remove this line. if not we will see endless "conversation" ;) about that. What about fusion cores, synth production and so on - all fantasy -f*#@ing fantasy game :)
It's not that I dislike laser weapons, I just hate the frequency of it. Laser weapons should be rare and super powerful. How the hell can they casually have people running around with that in a world that barely has electricity. Going to try this mod out. Thanks
Everyone has laser guns, but no bread, apparently. It's like the people are being difficult, and insisting on working in collective farms instead of working efficiently.
You can go into F4Edit, find every reference to the lasers (which is already outlined in this mod) and then make them super rare and powerful. You can also go into the laser LL and change "chance none" to a really big number making the laser ll spawn very infrequently!

Stopped reading there. Enjoy living in 2003 with your 2003 shooter with a modern facelift.
