Pair this mod with Toggle Passive Affinity Gain, which disables the constant affinity gain you receive just for being with your companion and traveling even if you're not doing anything, and you have a realistic setup. Now it will take in-game months/hundreds of hours IRL before your companions idolize you.
I edited this mod to be around 90% slower again because I found half/50% to still be very fast:
Like = 2
Loved = 4
Disliked = -3
Hate = -7
I figured that by having the negatives higher than the positives, then I would have to be careful what I do in front of certain companions.
Is there any way that this could scale with charisma? Someone with 10 charisma should definitely gain affinity faster than someone with 1, I was surprised it isn't a thing in the vanilla game, and someone with high enough charisma should get away with pretty much anything
There are several mods that affect the degree of like/love/dislike/hate but it's the cooldown rates that I feel affect the pacing of relationship change. A mod to set those cooldowns would allow for true fine-tuning of the whole process. (There's a mod to negate cooldown altogether but that may be a bridge too far for many.)
I installed the Half-Rate one and it still happens way too fast, especially with "good" aligned companions because I'm unapologetically a goody-two-shoes. If you put it off, they just stack... Danse just told me all three of his right in a row because I kept putting him off. But the most annoying part of it is that you continue to gain affinity while crafting or building, which I can do happily for HOURS (I find it therapeutic). Other than dismissing them to another site all together, is there any way to "pause" affinity while crafting? I mean, watching someone build or make something can be kinda cool, but falling in love with someone over it isn't very likely to happen.
This mod is great, I am going 3x since I already played this game plenty of times anyway and already maxed out affinities normally with all characters anyway, usually my main companion is an Automatron but I still want the companion perks so 3x is fine for me to get it over with and get to travel with "Carrier" right away (My sentry bot with max carry weight for DLCs so I don't have to keep fast travelling to my home to keep putting stuff away so often)
This probably won't get a response, certainly not in time for my next playthrough so I'll probably install it and see for myself, but the description is vague enough that I'm confused as to whether it affects affinity cooldown, or amount of affinity gain (guessing the former), and there is no indication as to whether it works with Nuka-World and Far Harbor. Hopefully it does, and assuming it works the way I think it does I'll be using half gains alongside the No Affinity Cooldown mod.
Kinda late, but I looked at it in fo4edit and saw that it edits the global affinity gain/loss amount, doesn't touch cooldowns. And since it just uses global settings it should work with dlc too.

I have 80 hours of play and I always have a maximum of 5 companions with maximum loyalty. with this mod I can now have everyone and play it well.
must have
